On June 29, 2004 nearly 200 people gathered at
the Diamond University Centre to celebrate the
birthday of a well loved and highly respected SFU
fixture, Professor Thelma Finlayson.
A former Belleville, Ontario resident, Thelma
joined Simon Fraser University Faculty in 1967,
where she went on to assist in the 1972
establishment of Master of Pest Management (MPM)
Program. Thelma's leadership skills did not end
there. The Professor is a generous donor of her
time, counsel and private funds. This consistency
and grace of character is what has gained Thelma
the loyalty and respect of so many friends,
family and coworkers. Many of whos dealings with
Thelma date as far back as 55 years.
