OBJECTIVES OF BOARD
  • Create an organised and regulated operating
    environment for all stakeholders
  • Improve the overall quality of tournaments
  • Design appropriate structural arrangement to
    create interactive relationship with licencees
  • Enhance popularity and support for boxing
  • Develop high performance boxers and ring
    officials for both the local and international
    stage
  • Create an enabling environment for the welfare of
    licencees
  • Provide a seamless transition from amateur to
    professional ranks

RESOLUTIONS
  • Investigate relationship between TV networks,
    promoters and BSA to enhance the objectives of
    BSA and all stakeholders
  • Give effect to an efficient and equitable
    transfer system of boxers
  • Revise contractual terms and conditions on an
    ongoing basis
  • Increase minimum purses of boxers
  • Raise standards of ring officials on an ongoing
    basis
  • Persuade ICASA to recognise boxing as local
    content
  • Review ratings and sanctioning guidelines
  • Establish relationships with Provincial Sports
    Departments
  • Strengthen Baby Champs League and boxing
    development
  • Rotate ring officials

BABY CHAMPS LEAGUE
  • Huge success in terms of support, participation
    and spectator attraction
  • Many talented boxers unearthed and given an
    opportunity to impress
  • Also provided platform for female boxers
  • Intention to extend league to include all 17
    divisions
  • Opportunity to attract financial supporter

TRAINING OF LICENCEES
  • Formal training of 30 top rated professional and
    15 amateur boxers and managers at High
    Performance Centre
  • Focus on technical ability
  • 10 workshops for licencees in Provinces
  • Focus on diet control, ring mechanics, contracts
    and tax issues

  • QUALIFIED ANNUAL REPORT
  • Completeness of licence fees
  • Necessary controls implemented
  • Training for BSA Provincial Reps
  • Non compliance with laws and regulations
  • No audit committee in place done

  • Segregation of duties procedures strictly
    followed

    audit committee meeting.

  • Have relations with IBO providing us with access
    to international fights
  • In discussions with WBA and WBC to conclude
    agreements
  • Approached Commonwealth Boxing Council to rate SA
    boxers in the UK
