BACKGROUND
FEATURES OF THE GUIDE
DISSEMINATION
Colorado College and Cornell College share a
similar academic calendar and were interested in
finding a collaborative project. Funded by
grant from Associated Colleges of the
Midwest/Mellon Foundation, librarians, faculty
and writing professionals from both colleges met
during the summer of 2004.

  • Guides shared with other institutions
  • Webpage
  • CD with contents of notebook
  • Guides distributed to Depts. Administrators on
    each campus
  • Brief theoretical discussions of the research
    process
  • Lists of assessment tools and sample rubrics

  • Templates with all desired features make it easy
    to solicit additional assignments

PURPOSE
Primary Purpose Create a collaborative guide to
assist faculty and librarians in designing
short-tem research assignments incorporating
