curiosity. - Video streaming reaches students with a wide
variety of learning styles. This leads to more
knowledgeable and higher achieving students.
15Streaming video is a sequence of "moving images
sent over the Internet. Streaming media is
streaming video with sound. With streaming
video or streaming media, a Web user does not
have to wait to download a large file before
seeing the video or hearing the sound. The media
is sent in a continuous stream and is played as
it arrives.
16Two studies conducted in Virginia and Los Angeles
showed significant improvement in Social Studies,
Science and Math performance for students who
were exposed to video content.
17- Media Specialists should be advocates of all of
these new media technologies. They have to
expand their knowledge and be ready to include
them when the time is right for their particular
situation and collections. - Assessing these rapidly evolving new formats is a
challenge for all media specialists.
