3HHS Quick Facts
- Heritage is the second high school to open in the
town of Leesburg, VA. and the 7th in the county. - Heritage has a population of 1,788 including our
PK Program - Heritage students value academic success 88
students made A honor roll and 741 made A/B honor
roll for the 1st 9 weeks. - AP continues to grow. Approximately 980 AP Exams
will be administered in May 2009 to Heritage
students enrolled in AP Courses. We only
administered 38 exams the year we opened.
4Pride Accomplishments
- The National Honor Society works actively with an
orphanage in Kenya, Africa which serves as a home
to children whose parents have died of HIV/AIDs. - Several clubs participated in the American Cancer
Society Relay for Life which is held at Heritage
each June. - Various groups participated in the Annual Walk
for Water to raise money for water wells in
Africa. - Our Varsity Club works with Leesburg area
elementary students throughout the year. - Key Club is collecting items through the District
Project Operation GI (Giving and Interacting). - The Heritage Singers have been invited for the
last 2 years to sing in an orchestral concert
with Longwood University. - Heritage participates in a German American
Partnership Program called GAPP with a school in
Soest, Germany called the Hannah-Arendt-Gesamtschu
le. German students visit Heritage for 3 weeks
each year. Heritage students also travel to
Germany each summer for 3 weeks as part of the
exchange

- 248 of the 367 graduates earned an Advanced
Studies Diploma - 91 entered a 4 year or 2 year college or
university after graduating, 4 entered other
educational ed., 2 joined the military and 3
entered in the world of work - Received almost 2,700,000 in scholarship money

15Registration Process
- Heritage counselors visit middle school to
register 8th graders for courses in February. - Course Request Form -Due back to the middle
school counselor in early March. Please review,
make changes and sign off. - Six Year Plan-Also due back to the middle school
counselor with your signature. This process is
under development. - All students sign up to take 4 core courses, PE
9, 2 electives, and study hall to fill the 8
block schedule. - Beginning of diploma quest.
