ALL ABOUT ME

• I am a Freshman at Clovis East High School.
• I am 14 years old

MY HISTORY IN AG

• This is my 1st year in AG
• This is also my 1st year in the FFA

IN THE CLASSROOM

• This is my 1st year taking agriculture classes
• As a freshman, I am taking three different AG
  classes.
• I am taking AG Biology.
• This class teaches you about cells, DNA,
  different parts of animals, etc..

• I am also taking AG Science 1.
• This class teaches you about animals, the parts
  of an animal, how to judge meat, and plants.
• I am also taking AG Mechanics.
• In this class I learned how to weld, learn
  different types of tools and how to use them
  properly, how to build wood projects.

MY SAE PROJECT

• At the beginning of my Freshman year, I bought a
  Breeding Gilt.
• When I bought her she was already bred to a
  Hampshire Boar.
• In September of 2002, Zoe, gave birth to 13
  piglets.
• I sold all of these piglets when they were old
  enough.

MY SAE PROJCET CONT...

• In June of 2002, I purchased a market hog to show
  at the Big Fresno Fair.
• Chloe, my market hog, was a cross-bred gilt.

MY FFA EXPERIENCE

• In November of 2002 I started on the BIG (Best
  Informed Greenhand) Team.
• This team helps you to learn more about the
  history of the FFA, and when it started, who
  began the FFA, etc
• The BIG team has also won every contest that they
  have competed in. They are now going to State
  Finals to compete to go to Nationals.

• In October of 2002, I showed my market hog at the
  Big Fresno Fair.
• She received an blue ribbon in her market class.
• I also got 7th place in my novice showmanship
  class and also 4th in my freshman showmanship
  class.

FUTURE PLANS

• Next year I plan on taking Landscaping, AG 2, AND
  AG Mechanics 2
• In June of this year I will be purchasing 2
  market hogs.
• One of them I will be showing at the California
  State Fair in August.
• The other one I will be showing at the Big Fresno
  Fair in October.
