Introduction - How to start
DHL Online Shipping allows you to manage domestic
and international shipments from your desktop.
With DHL Online Shipping you can prepare shipping
labels, track shipments and schedule pickups. To
start using DHL Online Shipping you only
need DHL Account to register DHL Online
Shipping does not require any installation, but
it does require registration. Laser printer for
shipments documents - DHL Airwaybills, shipment
receipts, and export documents all print out on
plain white paper. PC - IBM-compatible with
Microsoft Internet Explorer browser (version 4.0
and higher) or Netscape browser (version 4.5 and
higher).

System functionality
Online demo for help you at any time
You can log out of DHL Online Shipping three
ways choose Logout from the Home page, click the
X in the upper right corner of the window, or
click the Logout link where it appears in the
upper right corner of a page.
And more Help - Help links on each DHL Online
Shipping page provide procedural and field
definition information. Session Time Out - As a
security precaution, DHL Online Shipping does a
time out after 30 minutes of inactivity. If that
happens, you need to log in to DHL Online
Shipping again and recreate the shipment data.

Preparing a Shipment To/From
  • To prepare your shipment paperwork, select
    Prepare Shipment Paperwork on the DHL Online
    Shipping Home Page and follow the simple steps
    below.
  • Complete the "From" Section of the Page
  • The From section displays your default shipper
    information.  If you need to change your shipping
    address, click Edit Address.  The shipper address
    fields then become editable.  If you are editing
    the shipper address, do one of the following
  • Manually edit the address as necessary.
  • Enter a shipper Nickname from your Address Book
    and then click Load Nickname. The address
    information will populate the From section.
  • Click Open Address Book and select a sender.  
  • Complete the "To" Section of the Page
  • The To section is used to enter information about
    your recipient.  To complete this section, do one
    of the following
  • Manually enter the address information.
  • Enter a shipper Nickname from your Address Book
    and then click Load Nickname. The address
    information will populate the To section.
  • Click Open Address Book and select a recipient.  
  • Move on to the Next Step

Preparing a Shipment Shipment details
  • The second step in preparing your shipment is to
    provide Shipment Details.  
  • Complete the Shipment Details Page
  • Complete the field information on the Shipment
    Details Page.  Note the following
  •  

Some fields are required as indicated by a red
asterisk.  These fields must be completed,
otherwise you will not be able to move on to the
next step.
If you require help with any particular field on
the page, click the Help link.
If you are unsure if your shipment is dutiable,
click the Help me link located next to the
Dutiable check box.  The Determine Dutiable
Status page will appear.  Full information on
using this page is available by accessing the
Help.

Preparing a Shipment Service options
  • The Service Options page is used to specify
    preferences for moving the shipment under
    preparation. You can also specify payment
    options, shipment date, and email addresses for
    notification upon shipping.
  • Note  Depending on your country of origin, some
    of the field information shown in the image below
    may or may not be editable.
  • Complete the Service Options Page
  • When providing your Service Option information,
    be aware of the following

Review the Destination Country Shipping
Information for any special information that
might affect your shipment.

Four additional email addresses can be notified
of the shipment by clicking the Add additional
email addresses or message link. By clicking this
link, you can also add your own personal message
to the shipment advisory.

Preparing a Shipment Request Courier Pickup
  • Important If you are a DHL customer with a
    regularly scheduled pickup today, you do not need
    to use this feature.
  • The Request Courier Pickup feature is for
    customers who schedule pickups as needed. This
    feature is available from the DHL Online Shipping
    Home page and as an optional step on the Service
    options page.
  • To Request a Courier Pickup
  • On the DHL Online Shipping left-hand
    navigation pane, click Request Courier Pickup.
    The Request Courier Pickup page opens with your
    registered default shipper information. 
  • Modify this information if necessary.
  • At the bottom of the page, click Request Pickup.

Preparing a Shipment Confirm Shipment
  • The confirm shipment page provides a recap of
    your shipment before processing.  
  • Complete the Confirm Shipment Page
  • Review the shipment information on the Confirm
    Shipment page to make sure it is correct.  

You must accept the Terms and Conditions by
selecting the Terms and Conditions check box
before you can confirm the shipment.
If you would like an email confirmation of the
shipment, make sure to select the Send me an
email check box.
Should you need to make a correction or change,
click Previous or click one of the Step names in
the navigation bar to access the page requiring
modification.

Preparing a Shipment Print Shipment Paperwork
  • After confirming your shipment,  you can print
    your shipment paperwork.  From this page you can
    also start another shipment if necessary, select
    another DHL Online Shipping function, or close
    your browser window.  
  • To Print Your Shipment Paperwork
  • Select the type of paperwork and quantity you
    want printed. (Note  Two labels are required for
    shipping.)
  • Click Print. After a few moments, a Windows
    print dialog appears. Click OK to print your
    shipment documents.  
  • To Start a New Shipment
  • Select an option to create a new shipment and
    then click Next.
  • To Select another DHL Online Shipping Function
  • Select an option on the left-hand navigation
    pane.
  • To Exit DHL Online Shipping
  • Click Close.

Tracking - Track/Shipment History (1/2)
  • Use the Track/Shipment History feature to find a
    shipment, track it, view shipment information,
    view pickup details, download a spreadsheet of
    shipments, and copy paperwork for a new
    shipment..
  • To Track a Shipment or View Shipment History
  • Select Track Shipment / History from the DHL
    Online Shipping navigation pane.
  • Use a search feature
  • Type a name in the Find box, set Contained in
    column to the preferred heading, and then click
    Go.
  • Click a column heading once to sort entries in
    ascending order double-click to sort in
    descending order.
  • In Fast Track (located at the bottom of the
    page), type an Airwaybill number and then click
    Go.
  • When you find the shipment, select its check
    box, and then use one of the following commands
  • Track Shipment View results, including the
    Airwaybill Number, Origin Service Area,
    Destination Service Area, and Status. Click the
    Airwaybill Number to view/reprint it. Click
    Return to DHL Online Shipping to track another
    shipment.

Tracking - Track/Shipment History (2/2)
  • View Shipment Displays the Shipment Receipt.
    Once displayed, you can choose a command to Copy
    Shipment, Track Shipment, PRINT, or Return to
    Shipment History.
  • View Pickup Details Displays the Pickup Log.
    Click the Confirmation to cancel a shipment.
    Click Cancel to close the Pickup Log page.
  • Copy Begins a new shipment using data from the
    selected shipment record.  
  • To download a spreadsheet of records
  • Click Download (located at the bottom of the
    page).
  • When prompted,  click Open to view the
    spreadsheet or Save to download the spreadsheet
    to your local drive.

Manage My Address Book (1/3)
Use the Manage My Address Book feature to find,
edit, copy, ship from or to, delete, add, or
download a spreadsheet of shippers and recipients
in your DHL Online Shipping database. To Manage
Your Address Book On the DHL Online Shipping
navigation pane, click Manage My Address Book.
The Manage My Address Book page opens.

Note If you want to add a record or download a
spreadsheet of all records, skip steps 2 and 3
below. Go to step 4.
  • To add a record
  • Click the Add button at the bottom of the screen.
  • Complete the details on the page.
  • Click a command button
  • Save and Ship continue a shipment preparation.
  • Save and Exit add the record for future
    shipments.
  • To edit a record
  • Click a sender or recipient Nickname.
  • Modify the details on the page as necessary.
  • Click a command button
  • Save and Ship continue a shipment preparation.
  • Save and Exit add the record for future
    shipments.
  • To delete a record
  • Select a sender or recipient radio button
    (located to the left of Nickname) and then click
    Delete.
  • On the confirmation dialog, click OK  to confirm
    the deletion.

Manage My Address Book (3/3)
  • To find a record
  • Use a search feature.
  • Type a name in Find, set Contained in column to
    the preferred heading, and click Go.
  • Click a letter of the alphabet to view records
    that start with that letter.
  • Click a column heading once to sort entries in
    ascending order double-click to sort in
    descending order.
  •  
  • When you find the shipper or recipient, select
    their option button (to the left of Nickname),
    and then use a command button
  • Edit Open the Manage My Address Book, Add or
    Update page to update details.
  • Copy Open the Manage My Address Book, Add or
    Update page to duplicate and edit a record.
  • Delete Remove record from your Address Book. At
    the prompt, click OK.
  • Ship Add shipper or recipient to a shipment
    preparation.
  • Click a command button
  • Save and Ship continue a shipment preparation.
  • Save and Exit add the record for future
    shipments.
  • To download a spreadsheet of records
  • Click the Download button at the bottom of the
    screen.
  • At the prompt, click Open to view the spreadsheet
    or Save to download the spreadsheet to your local
    drive.

Update My Details
  • DHL Online Shipping uses the information you
    provide at registration as the default shipper.
    This minimizes the typing required to prepare a
    shipment. As needed, use Update My Details to
    change your information, such as address, pickup
    time, contact person, and so on.
  • To Update Your Details
  • On the DHL Online Shipping navigation pane,
    click Update My Details. The Update My Details
    page opens.
  • Complete the required fields and other fields,
    as needed.
  • At the bottom of the page, do of the
    following
  • Click Print Screen to optionally get hard copy of
    your information.
  • Click Submit to update your information.

Contact DHL
  • The Contact DHL feature lets you submit requests
    and suggestions. This feature appears in left
    navigation on the DHL Online Shipping Home page,
    and as a link on the top right of most other
    pages.
  • To Contact DHL
  • On the DHL Online Shipping navigation pane, click
    Contact DHL. The Contact DHL page opens.
    Depending on the country you are located in you
    will be presented with one of the following
  • A form that allows you to enter and submit
    comments.
  • A page listing DHL customer service telephone
    numbers.
