Presenters

• Jana Schey chairs the PIDX Business Process Work
  Group (BPWG).  The PIDX BPWG works with industry
  practitioners to define best practices and
  business process guidelines for e-Commerce
  initiatives.  Jana is responsible for catalog
  management and standards initiatives for OFS
  Portal. 
• Marvin Carter is an EHS Specialist at Devon
  Energy Corporation.  He is responsible for the
  EHS approval process and manages the EHS
  Contractor Data Base that houses over 4,000
  contractors. Devon Energy Corporation is one of
  the larger independent oil and gas producers and
  independent processors of natural gas and natural
  gas liquids in North America.
• Tom Knode is the HSE Technical Support Manager
  for Halliburton.  His duties include providing
  support to Business Development for HSE questions
  in tenders.

Project Purpose

• PROBLEM The diversity of contractor HSE
  questionnaires/specifications with which industry
  is expected to comply and lack of a standardized
  format for electronic transmission of data is
  time consuming and expensive.
• PURPOSE Develop a comprehensive, standardized
  questionnaire that can be used on a global basis,
  a glossary of related HSE terminology and a
  standardized electronic format to communicate the
  data.
• NOTE The questionnaire would not be yet
  another questionnaire but would build upon the
  current standard set forth in API RP 76,
  Contractor Safety Management for Oil and Gas
  Drilling and Production Operations.

Scope

• 2-phase project
• Phase 1 Comprehensive list of HSE questions
  based on existing documents and resources
  including process governing usage (e.g., standard
  data set, etc.)
• Recommended revisions to API RP 76 (Contractor
  Safety Management for Oil and Gas Drilling and
  Production Operations)
• Glossary of HSE terminology
• Phase 2 Standard (XML) electronic format for
  data exchange (further refinement of data set,
  accepted values, etc.)

• Expanded some existing RP 76 sections with
  additional questions
• Added additional sections based on
• Operator requests as captured by vendor
  ISNetworld
• Other industry/association work products as
  appropriate (OGP, FPAL, IPIECA, etc.)
• XML Business Message
• The XML business message will enable suppliers to
  send data electronically in a standard format to
  their customers or customers agents.
• XML message is not intended to replace existing
  methods for providing safety data that small to
  medium size enterprises may use (e.g., online
  systems, paper questionnaire, etc.).

  will be noted and additions recommended.
• Glossary review will include a quality check of
  definitions from a global (international)
  perspective. In addition, some terms require
  definition and others require special attention.
  Terms with regional specifications should be
  noted.
