The purpose of The Goizueta Foundation is to
assist organizations that empower individuals and
families through educational opportunities to
improve the quality of their lives.

History
Mr. Roberto C. Goizueta established The Goizueta
Foundation in 1992 to provide financial
assistance to educational and charitable
institutions. The Foundation is a
private, general purpose, grant-making foundation
which includes a limited staff and an Executive
Committee comprised of five people.Â
17History at ABAC Hispanic/Latino Retention Program
- The year 2004 implemented the first collaboration
with The Goizueta Foundation. - The College of Advancement at ABAC brought forth
a proposal to The Goizueta Foundation to
establish a scholarship for Hispanic/Latino
students at ABAC. - In August of 2007 a second grant was written to
The Goizueta Foundation. - Retention of first year CAMP students.

at ABAC provided by The Goizueta Foundation. - Scholars Scholarship
- Retention Program
- Need-Based Scholarship
- These three programs are focused with the same
goal in mind to enroll, retain, and graduate
Hispanic/Latino students.

Scholars Scholarship
The intent of the Goizueta Foundation Scholars
Scholarship is to fully support the cost of an
academic year which includes unfunded tuition,
fees, books, and other expenses related to the
cost of education to the extent available funds
allow.

Scholars Scholarship
- Eligibility Criteria
- Be of Hispanic/Latino Descent
- Accepted to ABAC
- Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher
- Be able to demonstrate a financial need
- Reside in the United States
- This scholarship is a competitive, academic
scholarship - Residency status is not considered for this
scholarship

Retention Program
The purpose of the Hispanic/Latino Retention
Program is to retain students after they have
successfully completed their first year at
ABAC. Priority is given to CAMP students.
Application Process This program allows these
students to continue their second year of college
by assisting them with unfunded tuition, fees,
books, room, and board.

- Be of Hispanic/Latino descent
- Successfully completed one year of college at
ABAC - Eligible for federal financial aid (FAFSA)
- Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 or above
- Willing to participate in community service
- For this scholarship, residency status is
considered

Need-Based Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship is to equalize
the tuition rate or help defray the cost of
college when federal, state or private funds are
inadequate for Hispanic/Latino students accepted
at ABAC. This scholarship is not intended to
provide a complete financial support package to
each student. This scholarship does intend to
provide some financial assistance to make access
to college a reality.

- Be accepted to ABAC
- Demonstrate financial need
- Residency status is not considered for this
