    problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Basic skills in word processing, spreadsheet,
    database, desktop publishing, and multimedia
    presentation software

Supplies Needed
  • 2-pocket folder with prongs.
  • Pen or pencil at ALL times
  • Planner ( to be used as a pass you MUST have
    this to leave the room)

Grading
  • Microtype4 Lesson Grades will be given based on
    number of lessons completed within a given
    timetable.
  • Keyboarding technique grades will be given
    periodically.
  • All grades count 100.
  • Follow instructions (in the front pocket of your
    folder) for assignments.
  • Keep your lesson assignment sheet in your folder
    until you are finished. All graded printouts are
    to be kept in your folder behind the assignment
    sheet.
  • Save computer work in the appropriate period
    folder within your personal folder. Work saved
    elsewhere will be deleted.
  • Turn in all papers to be graded in the correct
    period slot labeled on the black tray that is on
    the table up front.

Make-Up Work
  • Check the makeup folder for work missed. Your
    name will be on the assignment sheet. IT IS
    STUDENTS RESPONSIBILITY.
  • If you need to make up work, you may do so on
    Wednesdays After school from 240 330.
  • NO morning makeup time as I have morning duty
  • Periodically, there will be times in class to do
    makeup work.

Tardy
?All students are expected to arrive in class ON
TIME (Seated and working before the tardy bell
rings) If you are tardy, you need to sign the
tardy book. ?1st tardy verbal warning ?2nd
tardy written warning sent home to be signed by
parent/guardian ?3rd tardy class detention
?Additional tardies referred to principals
office

ISS
  • ?ISS work will be graded.
  • Work is due the day of your return and is to be
    placed in the appropriate tray up front. NO
    CREDIT for late work.
  • Be sure to check up the makeup folder up front
    for any computer-related assignments missed.

Book Bags and Books
  • Books need to be lined up along the side walls.
  • Bookbags are not allowed in class (with the
    exception of 6th grade.)
  • Purses may be at your station.

Seating
When you enter the lab, you should sit at your
assigned computer station with ALL materials
needed. See screen in front for assignments or
begin on previous assignment from the day
before. The only reason to be out of your seat
is to get a printout from the printer. Keep
your work area free of excess paper. Keep
chair legs on the floor at all times. DO NOT
roll around in your chair.

Clean up Your Station
  • Push in your chair
  • Hang headphones over the top of the textbook
  • Close any programs you have open
  • And did I say push in your chair??????

CandyFood/Drinks
  • No candy, food, or drinks are allowed at the
    computer stations at ANY time.

Gum
  • I am going to allow you to chew gum as long as
    you do not take it out of my classroom. Gum must
    go in the trash as you leave.

Restroom Breaks
  • Always ask permission before you go to the
    restroom.
  • Fill out your agenda in the back. It must go
    with you when you leave the room for any reason.
  • Sign out in my book.

Computers, Software and Settings
  • Respect the Computer
  • No outside media
  • NO INTERNET only assignment based
  • No tampering with the computers
  • That means also no drawing on the desktop with
    your mouse!!!
  • Report all computer malfunctions to me
    immediately!

E-Mail/Social Networking/Chat
  • You are not permitted to send and receive
    personal e-mail during school
  • Social networking sites are off limits during the
    school day. (Myspace, Facebook, etc.)
  • Online chatting and blogging is strictly
    prohibited. This is for your safety.

Music Videos Online Audio i-pods mp3 players
Cell Phones
?Listening to music is also not permitted ?Any
videos or audio should be related to the
assigned project. ?I-pods or other mp3 players
are not allowed in the lab. ?Cell phones are
allowed to be carried, but not turned on or used
during class time. They are for after school use
only! ?If you do have these items, they should
remain in your book bag, pocket or purse.and
TURNED OFF

Web Surfing
  • Web surfing will be allowed only when given
    permission by instructor.
  • All assignments must be completed
  • Sites should be educational and content/age
    appropriate
  • No online games permitted unless it is funbrain
    or disney or other sites provided by the teacher

Headphones
  • When listening to online tutorials during
    assignments, please use headphones that are
    provided.
  • This will ensure that you will not distract
    students working around you ?
  • If the audio is too loud, please use the volume
    control icon located in the bottom right corner
    of your taskbar.
  • You may also use the knob on the right side of
    your computer monitor.

Adult Content
  • Searching, displaying, or printing any adult
    content is strictly prohibited.
  • Violators will immediately lose internet access
    and will be referred to the principal

FAILURE TO FOLLOW RULES
  • Failure to follow these rules will result in
    signing the discipline book.
  • Parent will be notified on the 1st and 2nd
    signing.
  • D.R. will be issued on the 3rd signing.

Procedures Agreement
  • Your signature acknowledges that you accept and
    agree with the discussed procedures of the CMS
    Business and Computer Science class.
  • If you feel that you cannot abide by the rules
    set forth, please let the instructor know so that
    alternate activities may be given
  • Parents may read the procedures on the teacher
    website go to http//www.ccboe.net/cms
  • If you do not have internet access, please inform
    your child to ask for a hard copy of the
    procedures for your review.
