  • What will they bring to the table?
  • Will they be an asset or an obligation?
  • What kind of commitment can they give?
  • What do they want from you?

  • Once partners are chosen, need to nurture
  • Give them a role a sense of purpose
  • It is easy to lose a partner time is money and
    very tight in the world of volunteers

  • When partners are established
  • How can they help the coalition?
  • What resources do they have available that you
    can use?
  • Examples local hospital meeting rooms, food
    for meetings, supplies for projects non-profit
    organization flexibility of time, share grant
    duties and collaborate on grants
  • Remember to return the favor

  • Once you have resources available how do you
    get the most out of them?
  • How can do bargain for more?
  • Can you extend your resources into the next year?
  • Local merchants will work with you, IF YOU
    ASK!!!!!

  • Volunteers are very precious and valuable
  • Networking is essential to a strong coalition
  • Be selective as to who will be your partners
