Rates?

• Teachers and administrators track the progress of
  each student, identify their needs and find
  solutions
• Provide programs year round that fit the needs of
  students
• Schools communicate with parents and students
  through a variety of mechanisms

• Prisons are planned based on the reading level of
  third grade students
• 75 of state prison inmates are high school
  dropouts
• 59 of federal inmates are high school dropouts

stronger economy

• On average, high school dropouts earn 9,245 less
  per year than high school graduates
• Dropouts are twice as likely to slip into poverty
  as high school graduates and are often unable to
  support themselves
• The net economic benefit to society for each
  student who graduates from high school is

• It costs approximately 20,000 per year to
  house a state prison inmate.
• It costs approximately 7,000 per year to
  educate a student in Clarksville-Montgomery
  County Schools.

• Volunteer to mentor a student and take time to
  listen to their concerns, problems, and
  experiences
• Show them how school is relevant to work and life
• Hold the students you know accountable by asking
  them how they are doing in school
• Dont allow students to work late on school nights

• Provide study areas in the workplace during
  breaks
• Provide students with incentives for school
  attendance and raising their grades
