Jane Wayne Day 08
  • Recently, the women in our lives participated in
a full-day Marine indoctrination program that
exposed our loved ones to a small part of what it
feels like to be a Marine. I am extremely proud
of the women that participated in Jane Wayne Day
and look forward to some more mothers, fiancés,
and wives to join in next year.

Battalion MCREE
  • From 17-24 November, Comanche Company deployed to
the field to conduct the MCCRE where core LAR
tasks were performed and evaluated. Day 1
started with a 70-mile road march around 29 Palms
with only one vehicle needing minor repairs that
our mechanics rapidly brought back into action
during a rest stop. The operation continued with
missions to conduct a zone reconnaissance, route
    reconnaissance, immediate reaction drills
countering IEDs, ambushes, and complex attacks.
Continuing at full speed we ended the week with
the platoons conducting live fire platoon attacks
on an enemy objective firing bunker busting
rockets, small arms, and the 7.62 medium machine
    gun.

5
Steel Knight 08
  • From 2-17 Dec Comanche Company participated in
Exercise Steel Knight. Lasting two-weeks long
the Company would conduct a battle sight zero
range, live fire combat patrol course, urban
combat shoot, combined arms fire support
exercise, and culminate in a Company live fire
attack supported by close air support, mortars,
and artillery fire. This extremely challenging
and aggressive field training exercise was
successfully completed allowing us to move onto
the next training events that will prepare us for
    deployment.

6
Holiday Party
  • On 18 December, the Battalion celebrated
Christmas with a party Santa Claus abandoned his
sleigh for a custom LAV built by members of
    Comanche Company.
