Renaissance
- The year is 1920, an American Renaissance is
sweeping the country and brings with it a new
style of music . Jazz is boiling over in the
streets of Harlem. This time period know as the
Harlem Renaissance is an outstanding phase of
literary artistic development that propelled
American music and the poetry of Black Americans
to the forefront of our cultural identity. No
longer would America look to the Europeans for
the next trend in music, or literature they would
look to America. Langston Hughes the poet
laureate of Harlem will soon become the
artistic soul for the written word in regards to
jazz.

a time line from 1900 through 1930 that depicts
the life and times of Langston Hughes.
