Title: Creation
1Creation Evolution
- From the Goo to You by Way of the Zoo!
2I am a scientist
- B.A. in Neurobiology and Behavior from Cornell
University (1976) - M.S. in Chemistry, majoring in Biochemistry, from
Northern Illinois University (1978) - Ph.D. in Chemistry, majoring in Biochemistry,
from Florida State University (1984) - Post-doctoral research at Los Alamos National
Laboratory (1986) - Worked for Abbott Laboratories in in vitro
diagnostic assay development since 1986 and have
given numerous seminars and presentations,
including to the FDA and the USDA - Have taught general chemistry, organic chemistry,
and biochemistry at the college level - Have 7 publications in peer-reviewed journals, 2
chapters in biotechnology books, and 2 patents
But what things were gain to me, those I counted
loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all
things but loss for the excellency of the
knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord for whom I
have suffered the loss of all things, and do
count them but dung, that I may win
Christ.... Phil 3.7-8
3I am a Christian
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory
of God Rom 323
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the
Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that
God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be
saved. Rom 109
For the wages of sin is death but the gift of
God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our
Lord. Rom 623
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that,
while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Rom 58
4The Evolution of My View of Evolution
Alleged Evidence for Evolution foundto fit into
one of three categories
Build solidly. Prepare thoroughly. Never be
satisfied with superficial answers. God's Word
can stand the most thorough investigation. Do
not shirk the difficult problems but seek to
bring the facts to light, for God's Word and
God's world will never contradict one another.
Robert Dick Wilson, PhD, DD, Prof of Semitic
Philology at pre-apostate Princeton Theological
Seminary (conversant with 26 languages, reading
knowledge of at least 45 languages dialects)
For the creature was made subject to vanity, not
willingly, but by reason of him who hath
subjected the same in hope, because the creature
itself also shall be delivered from the bondage
of corruption into the glorious liberty of the
children of God. For we know that the whole
creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together
until now. Rom 820-22
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the
world, and death by sin and so death passed upon
all men, for that all have sinned. Rom 5.12
5Three Categories of Alleged Evidence 1
Unnatural Selection (10)
- The presentation of only that part of the data
that fits your model - A Classic example The fossil record
- Evolution-The Fossils Say No!, Duane Gish, Ph.D.

Do Evolutionists simply not know?
11Alleged Evolution of Humanity
aka, Lucy
12Alleged Evolution of Humanity
- What was found?
- Did Lucy walk upright?
- an open question we cant get to tonight
13Alleged Evolution of Humanity
- Artistic conception
- Australopethicus africanus
- What do you notice about this picture?
Note contemplative gaze, human hands and use of
tools.
14Alleged Evolution of Humanity
- Artists goal
- John Gurche, artist, National Geographic, March,
1996 p. 109. - I wanted to get a human soul into this ape-like
face, to indicate something about where he was
headed.
15Alleged Evolution of Humanity
- What was actually found?
- Lucy discovered in 1974
- About 40 of the fossil was found
- Claimed to be 3.5 million years old
- Claimed bipedal (walked upright)
16Alleged Evolution of Humanity
Lucy and the Australopithecines
- No similarity in appearance to humans
- Long arms are identical to chimpanzees
- Jaws are similar to chimpanzees
- Upper leg bone is similar to chimpanzees
- Lucys legs were very ape-like
- Brain size (400-500 cc) overlaps chimpanzees
- Large back muscles for tree dwelling
- Hands similar to pygmy chimpanzee
- Feet were long and curved
17Alleged Evolution of Humanity
- Conclusions
- Human evolutionary theory in constant flux due to
numerous problems - ape vs. human
- walking upright vs. on knuckles
- monkey business in dating the finds
18Three Categories of Alleged Evidence 2 Faulty
Logic (10)
- Errors in logical reasoning that would be obvious
in the absence of bias - A Classic example abiotic biochemical origins
(aka, from the goo to you by way of the zoo) - The Stanley Miller experiment
- assumed primordial atmosphere had a certain
composition - demonstrated formation of some basic chemical
building blocks upon exposure to lightning - Viola! that must mean the initial assumption was
correct
Didnt get all the necessary components, or any
formation of molecules
Didnt prove original assumption
um, NOT!

Logic (10)
21Three Categories of Alleged Evidence 3 The
Common Data Point (80)
22Three Categories of Alleged Evidence 3 The
Common Data Point (80)
- Observations/data that can be explained by either
competing model/hypothesis, and consequently are
irrelevant to deciding which is true - A Classic Example similarities in amino acid
sequences of the same proteins found in different
species (e.g., cytochrome c)
23Evidence that fits Creation better than Evolution
- Intelligent Design
- The information content of the various components
of nature (Creation!) can only have come about
by designwhich means a Designer - Irreducible Complexity
- When a single system composed of several
well-matched, interacting parts that contribute
to the basic function, wherein the removal of any
one of the parts causes the system to effectively
cease functioning.

26Why? does this matter?
27Why?do evolutionists cling so desperately to
Evolution?
28Why?do evolutionists cling so desperately to
Evolution?
- Charles Darwin (1809-1882) wrote his On the
Origin of the Species in 1859. - Thomas H. Huxley (1825-1895) was a contemporary
biologist who strongly supported evolution not
just in the realm of biology, but in philosophy,
economics, and politics as well. He invented the
word agnostic. - Aldous L. Huxley (1894-1963) was T. H. Huxleys
grandson, an English novelist and critic, author
of Brave New World (1932). He followed in his
grandfathers steps. Also in 1932, he tells us
clearly why he adopted evolution as his worldview
in his book, Ends and Means.
29Why?do evolutionists cling so desperately to
Evolution?
I had motives for not wanting the world to have
a meaning and consequently assumed that it had
none, and was able without any difficulty to find
satisfying reasons for this assumption in the
theory of evolution. The philosopher who finds
no meaning in the world is not concerned
exclusively with a problem in pure metaphysics.
He is also concerned to prove that there is no
valid reason why he personally should not do as
he wants to do. For myself, as no doubt for most
of my friends, the philosophy of meaninglessness
the logical outcome of the theory of evolution,
if there is no God was essentially an instrument
of liberation from a certain system of morality.
We objected to the morality because it interfered
with our sexual freedom. The supporters of this
system claimed that it embodied the meaning - the
Christian meaning, they insisted - of the world.
There was one admirably simple method of
confuting these people and justifying ourselves
in our erotic revolt we would deny that the
world had any meaning whatever. (page 270
Editorial comments and emphasis added.)
30Conclusion
- How true is the observation that all too often, a
mans morality dictates his theology! - John 717 If any man will do his will, he shall
know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or
whether I speak of myself.
31One last quote
- "An honest man, armed with all the knowledge
available to us now, could only state that, in
some sense, the origin of life appears at the
moment to be almost a miracle. So many are the
conditions which would have had to have been
satisfied to get it going. But this should not be
taken to imply that there are good reasons to
believe that it could not have started on the
earth by a perfectly reasonable sequence of
fairly ordinary chemical reactions. The plain
fact is that the time available was too long, the
many microenvironments on the earth's surface too
diverse, the various chemical possibilities too
numerous and our own knowledge and imagination
too feeble to allow us to be able to unravel
exactly how it might or might not have happened
such a long time ago, especially as we have no
experimental evidence from that era to check our
ideas against." (Francis Crick, Life Itself, Its
Origin and Nature, 1981, p. 88)
