Our Vision and Goals
Enlist community volunteers, partners,
and donors who care about young moms enough to
give them hope by mentoring, by training, and by
supporting them. Help young moms bridge the gap
between their broken dreams and their new
vision. Guide young moms as they create a new
roadmap for their life.

- Introduce moms to Jesus Christ and helping them
grow in their faith - Meet moms where they are by (1) going to their
turf, (2) loving them unconditionally- regardless
of their choices about faith, and (3) create
opportunities for sharing compassion, advice and

7Education- Mentoring Mom Program
- Program Summary
- Program for unwed pregnant young women and
teenage mothers, between the ages of 13 and 22
and their children up to age 4. - Teen mothers will be equipped with practical
tools that will help them adjust to parenthood,
view parenting as a joy and a blessing and
develop good parenting skills. - Each mother will build a confident relationship
with a mature adult Christian woman (for mature
friendships and wise counsel). - Each will be encouraged in age-appropriate steps
toward independent living. - Teen parents will be encouraged to discover their
talents gifts and inner passions through the
creative arts. - Each will be encouraged to set goals to attain a
life of self-sufficiency.

- Program Summary
- Positive parenting curriculum- Teaching Parents
of Young Children by Laura Wetzel - Guest presenters from Pilgrim Baptist Church,
Bright Horizons Early Education Center, and Soul
Inspiration Ministry in the areas of Developing
and Maintaining Healthy Relationships, Early
Childhood Development and Goal Setting. - Weekly Devotional led by volunteer leaders
- New bibles for every teen mom were donated by
Capitol Hill Baptist Church - Dinner provided by local volunteers at each class
- Future Objectives
- Satellite classes to expand to DC House, High
Schools and Community Centers - Partner with local organizations willing to
provide counseling to Teen Moms - Partner with universities with community service
programs and intern programs
- Program Objectives
- Assist Teen Moms as they learn how to become a
health single parent. - Understand the roles and responsibilities of
parenting - Train teen parents in child development
- Help Teen Moms to recognize their strengths,
abilities, and talents.
- Achievements
- 15 teen mothers completed parenting series.
- 100 teenage mothers have enrolled in parenting
classes - 85 teenage mothers have learned parenting basic
skills - 75 teenage mother have enter other parenting
programs while/ after completing the Young Lives

- Provide children of teen mom a healthy and
loving environment - Provide an educational environment for children
up to age 4 to acquire basic skills - Help babies, toddlers and young children
socialize with other children

- 100 teenage mothers children have entered our
After School Program - 90 teenage mothers children have learned to
socialized with other children in the program - 65 teenage mothers children have learn basic
skills to prepare them for preschool and/or
improved their skills for school

New Initiative
Our goal To reintroduce teen parents into a
formal educational environment, encourage teen
parents to pursue knowledge, and promote continue
and higher education.
- Highlights and Achievements
- 5 teen moms earned high school diploma/GED.
- 5 completed vocational programs in customer
service or nursing assistance. - Future Objectives
- To develop a network of support at local
colleges, universities, and other agencies to
provide educational, therapeutic and clinical
support services. - To develop a network of professional mentors at
local workplaces to provide internships and
apprenticeships. - Expand curriculum to include cultural learning
opportunities through the local museums and
theaters.

living series focusing on life management,
emotional and spiritual growth, careers and

grant sources and foundations - Received 5,000 from YoungLife Golf Tournament
