Ch 22 Improvement Projects
  • Aside from keeping the process going, the
    steering team should work on specific projects
    (1-3 at a time) for things that need improvement.
  • Steps involved in problem solving
  • Review the pareto chart and find which behaviors
    are less than 100 safe
  • A) find behaviors that were observed most
    frequently at-risk (frequency)
  • B) find behaviors that had lowest percent safe

  • Look at trends have the low safe behaviors
    been routinely low?
  • Of the items observed as at-risk, find the ones
    that have been related to injury
  • Select the target find one based on probability
    of injury, potential severity of injury,
    consistency of unsafe, and trends in the data

    ABC analysis
