Students in the 60s
2
The student movement...
  • PAEG (Program of economic action of the
    government)
  • the movement of students appears. The movement
had the following objective to give to the
students more vacancies in the universities to
    give them a better education.
  • agreement that Brazil had made with U.S.A., in
which they, U.S.A., wanted to implement in Brazil
    the American imperialist system.

The walk of one hundred the a thousand..
  • The walk was against dictatorship,
  • In this attempt the leaders were imprisoned and
    sued

A STUDENT FASHION...
  • Style in the 1960's photographs are a very good
representation of what was considered 60's chic,
and hip in the early and mid 60's.
  • In the world of fashion, one of the biggest names
is Mary Quant. Rejecting the haute couture, Mary
had their designs and produced clothes for
    adolescents.
  • She is still remembered as the leader of the
introduction of new skirts and the sexual
    liberation in England.

Music...
  • After the 50's, we saw another great change in
popular music. We were now "twisting" to the
music when Chubby Checkers taught us how to do
the Twist. Some of the Doo Wop music continued,
but we began to see more female groups, and beach
and surfing music hit the airwaves. Of course,
Elvis was still riding high, but he saw some
petition when the Beatles entered the scene, and
    Beatlemania began.

  • Poodle skirts disappeared, and bell bottoms,
mini-skirts and go-go took over. The hippies
created their own style of fashion and fads with
psychedelic colors, tie-dyed t-shirts, lobe beads
and the peace sign. Afrom for the boys ( and some
girls ) came in style, and girls poufed up their
hair in big bouffants, that is unless they were
of the hippie crowd, and then it was long and
    straight.

8
ART ..
  • The pop art more feature is essentially a product
of society, vast horizons, ever changing,
America. As a movement, not the pop art emerged
spontaneously from the people in any country, nor
was a fusion of international styles. His
standards were determined by a decision to
address the contemporary world with a more
positive attitude. Despite the carnival aspects
of exaggerated colors and gigantic scale, the
alternative of pop art was based on clearly in a
pattern suited to the 60's, which were excluded
from the unpleasant, the nonsense, the
preciosity, the refinement. The pop art is
    spontaneous, direct and extroverted.
