White-tailed Deer

• They vary in size, Raises tail, when in danger.
• Found in swamps, forests, woods, and river
  bottoms.
• They eat forbes, grasses, shrubs, and fungi.

• Massive antlers 6 or more points
• Reddish-brown with dark brown neck
• mountains,meadows,foothills
• grass,forbs,bark and brush
• carry 8.5 months
• 8 to 14 yrs old

Moose

• Very large-hoofed mammal. Brown, 6 ft tall.
• Lives in bogs and swamps.
• Herbivores. Breeding in early fall. Twin calves.
• 1000 lbs and massive antlers

Caribou

• Its a medium-sized member, brown with a white
  butt. Its 5.5 to 7.5 feet with a 5-inch tail.
  The bulls may weigh up to 300 lbs.
• It lives in Canada and Alaska.
• It eats grasses
• It lives 6 to 8 years.

Bison

• Large hoofed mammal with a chocolate brown coat
  that is 10 feet long and 6 feet tall. They can
  weigh up to 900 lbs but some have been found
  larger. Live in North America and are herbivores.

Pronghorn

• Tan, with horns and white rump patch.
• Live in prairies, plains, and adapt well.
• Herbivores, eat sagebrush and grasses.
• Breed in October and November and conceive 7 to 8
  months later.

Big Horn Sheep

• Description- Large curly horns, brown in color,
  weigh 250 lb.
• Habitat- Mountains
• Feeding Habits- Herbivores, graze in pastures
• Life cycle- 12-14 years old, give birth to single
  lamb, breed in Nov. and Dec.

Mountain Lion

• Large, long-tailed cat. Tan to grayish in color
• Lives in forests, mountains and deserts
• Feeds on smaller mammals and white-tailed deer

Gray Wolf

• Large dog-like predator, thick coat of fur,
  bushy tail male weighs about 100 to 150 lbs.
  Females slightly smaller. 3.5 to 5 ft. length 16
  in. tail
• Live in open forests and tundras Minnesota,
  Michigan, Northern rocky states. Canada and
  Alaska strong holds.
• Eat anything from mouse to moose occasionally
  eat ripe fruit and berries
• Dominant male and female produce

Black Bear

• 5 to 6 feet, average weight 300 to 600 lbs.
• Lives in swamps, bogs, forested areas and
  mountains.
• Feed on insects and large mammals, berries
• Life span in wild - 12 to 15 years.

• Largest predator
• Alaska, Yellowstone NP, Canada
• 500-1000 lbs.
• berries, fish, mammals
• 20 to 30 yrs. Living
• 1-4 cubs, avg. 2
• born in Jan and Feb

Polar Bear

• Large white-yellowish color
• 6.5-8ft long
• weighs 600-800lbs
• Lives on rock shores and ice floes in the islands
  of the Artic
• Mate in June/July, average 2 cubs, give birth in
  Jan.
• Carnivores seals, whales, walrus
• Can live up to 20 years
