7From Progress Report to CWO certificate
The progress report remains with the trainee.
The different subjects may be taken at a random
order. The practical subjects have to be examined
in the same sail season. The theoretical subject
s may be spread over a period of 18 months.
If a subject is no longer mastered, it must be
retaken. When the progress report has been comple
ted, it will remain valid for 6 months. In that
period it has to be exchanged for a CWO
certificate. The certificate has an unlimited
period of validity.
8CWO certificate
9Machtiging Boot Leiding (MBL)
An MBL is issued by local team leaders to a
person who has the required CWO certificate and
who has proven able to sail and lead his crew
responsibly. Besides the required knowledge, a ca
ndidate needs to have the correct personality to
get an MBL. When scouts go sailing, there always
has to be someone aboard who has an MBL for the
concerned vessel. An MBL license can be withdrawn
by local team leaders.
