GATOR Never been done before. Back to Back to
Back. It was a marvelous, magical year if you
were a Gator in 2006 and yes we can all walk
with a swagger. However, a new year has begun
and we cant rest on our laurels. Its time to
rebuild the defense and reshape the offense.
Here in Seattle were leading the way. Weve
heard from you, we listened and now its time for
some action Were starting a GameDay newsletter
to keep you up to date with the club. Were
working on events that cater to you. What can

Seattle Gators Young Alumni Council
Coordinator BLUE! BLUE! BLUE! Yeah we all used to
make fun of the other side of the swamp as a
student shouting ORANGE and the Alum shouting
BLUE This year the Seattle Gator club has
appointed a Young Alumni Council Coordinator to
help the transition from student to workforce,
from Orange to Blue. So for those of you trying
not to feel a little Blue contact Sharon
Edelstein, our Young Alumni Council Coordinator.

Meet Sharon Edelstein Young Alumni Council
Coordinator Why are you a Gator Fan? Why not?!?
? Most Memorable Gator Gathering? Celebrating
the 2006 football national championship with a
bunch of Gators in Seattle! Tell us what you do
when youre not supporting the Gators? Any given
day you can find me listening to Wilco, watching
the Mariners, or supporting my favorite local
charity, Friends of the Children of King County.
Im currently collecting donations for our
auction on Oct 20th at the Red Lion in downtown
Seattle and you are all invited to attend!
Seattle Gators Giving Back We are pleased to
announce two new initiatives starting this year.
One initiative is to set up an endowment with the
University of Florida and the other is to help
sponsor a Florida Opportunity Scholarship. To
start an endowment requires raising 30,000
dollars. This summer at the UFAA leadership
conference your Seattle Gator Club
representatives were part of a group that brought
forth the idea of pooling our money with other
Gator Clubs outside the state of Florida to help
reach the 30,000 goal. We had a very positive
response and in a coming GameDay newsletter will
provide you with the results. Additionally, we
were introduced to the Florida Opportunity
Scholarship. This would provide a 2500
scholarship for a needy student from the state of
Florida. We believe the Seattle Gator club
through your past and future donations can make a
solid contribution to both initiatives and help
grow the Gator Nation!
GATOR EVENTS Gators at the Spotlight! September
17th 7PM 5th Avenue Theatre Did you see the film
Hairspray this summer? Have you heard of Light
in the Piazza? Both were performed first in
Seattle before heading to successful stints on
Broadway and in film. Interested in learning
more about the Seattle theatre scene at a
significantly reduced price FREE Seattles 5th
Ave Theater hosts an hour long free show which
gives some background behind the upcoming
musicals through both lectures and music. On
Monday September 17th, they begin this seasons

Seattle Gator Club Traditions We Are The
Boys At your Swamp away from the Swamp we here
in Seattle like to add our own home touch.
Gathering together in all kinds of weather (yep
it rains here in Seattle!). So just like in
Gainesville at Florida Field we all rise at the
end of the third quarter and stand shoulder to
shoulder and sing We are the Boys from ol'
Florida,F-L-O-R-I-D-AWhere the girls are the
fairest,The boys are the squarest,Of any ol'
state down our way Hey!We are all strong for ol'
FloridaDown where the ol' Gators play Go
Gators!In all kinds of weather we'll all stick
together...For F-L-O-R-I-D-A!
