Earth Ocean Watch Mission
The mission for what specifically concerns the
topography of the oceans will foresee the use of
dual frequency radar altimeter, a two frequency
radiometer and a precise orbit determination
package

altimeter / radiometer operations. - Solid State

For the EO applications the low orbits (LEO),
typically between 500 to 1,000 km in altitude,
are usually employed in order to get higher
spatial and radiometric resolutions. However the
GEO offers several advantages for the earth
observations among all the capability of a
continuous observations of the same geographic
area .

technique applied at the GEO orbit capable to
regenerate the original image starting from
signals coming from a set of telescopes (or a
multi-aperture telescope) observing
simultaneously the wanted object .

High Speed ASICs
Design and development of high data rate ASICs
for lossless data compression (radar application
and optical payloads applications). Design and
development of high speed DSP processing ASICs
for implementing demod, mux and switching
functions (TLC payload applications), Design and
development of high data rate ASICs for data
formatting (according to CCSDS standards) and
encryption (Triple- DES, AES) of payload data for
transmission to ground.

MMIC Receivers for Advanced Radiometric Systems
Design and development of integrated MMIC
receivers in the 10GHz to 200 GHz band, for
radiometric applications. Receivers architecture
should be of Direct detection and
superheterodyne type, depending from frequency
ranges. Specific MMIC circuits should be
developed as building blocks of each receiver
(LNA, LO-DRO, downconverter and IF, detector)
and assembled within compact Multichip Modules
(MCM).

Micro technologies allow systems miniaturization
and integration of on board functions with
smaller mass and power. Development of MEMS
building blocks and electrial function will allow

Development of concepts and S/W tools for AIV/
