  for several Oscars at this years upcoming
  Academy Awards.
  
• It will compete with 10 other films in the
  animated feature film category
  
• The board of governors of the Academy of Motion
  Picture Arts and Sciences voted to activate the
  category for the 76th Academy Awards

• Because there were fewer than 16 eligible
  entries, a maximum of 3 films can be nominated
  under the rules

  eligible for other categories, including Best
  Picture, provided they meet the requirements.

The eligibility of Jester Till, Tokyo
Godfathers, and The Triplets of Belleville is
subject to their opening in Los Angeles prior to
December 31. Nominations will be announced Jan
uary 27, 2004. The Oscars will be presented on F
ebruary 29, 2004.

• The animated film, a product of Disneys Pixar
  Animation Studios, was released in May of 2003
  and grossed an incredible 339.5 million. It
  easily surpassed Disneys The Lion King as the
  number one animated film of all-time.

• Finding Nemo also broke the record for DVD
  sales with 15 million, eclipsing previous record
  holder Spider-Man.

• Finding Nemo is above and beyond the favorite
  to win the Oscar in the animated category.
  
• Last years winner was Spirited Away. In 2001,
  the award went to the popular film Shrek.
