Title: Solar System Powerpoint
1A Virtual Tour
- By Trey Moore and Chuck Norris
2Character Intro
- Hi my name is Chuck Norris and Im here to take
you on one epic virtual trip through the universe.
3The Sun
- The Sun is a huge star at the center of the solar
system. The outer part of the sun is called the
corona. It averages over 2 million degrees above
Kelvin. The Sun is really hot and supplies light
to all the planets. The bright spots you see on
the Sun are called sun spots. It has three
layers the corona, photosphere, and
chromosphere. Our Sun has been burning for 5
billion years! Thats almost older than me, Chuck
Norris. It has a diameter of around 5,800
kilometers.
4The Sun cont.
The Sun is one hot star. Without it I wouldnt
be as epic as I am. And by the way, the bold-face
word on the previous page, corona, refers to the
outer layer of the sun and not a Mexican beer.
5The Sun is
6Mercury
Mercury is the first planet from the Sun. It has
the fastest revolution of all the planets. It is
the winged-messenger of the gods. It takes it 88
days to revolve and 59 days to rotate. Only Chuck
Norris can do better. During the day it can get
up to 427degrees Celsius and during the night
-183 degrees Celsius.
7Venus
Alright now its time to roundhouse kick, I mean
discuss, Venus. Venus is the brightest and planet
and the hottest because its atmosphere traps in a
lot of heat. Its the second planet from the Sun
and called Earths Sister. Venus is the second
planet from the Sun. It takes it 243 days to
rotate and 225 days to revolve. Venus is the
goddess of beauty
8Earth
Earth, there is only one thing you need to know-
its where I live. I joking, theres a lot of
things you need to know about the Earth. Its the
only planet that can support life and that has
running water. It is 93 million miles from the
Sun. It takes 24 hours to rotate and 365 days to
revolve. Rotation causes day and night while
revolution causes seasons. Earth also has one
Moon.
9The Earth is not
10Mars
Welcome one and all to the red planet, Mars.
Mars is named for the god of war because of it
blood-red color. Mars has two moons, Phobos and
Deimos. It is home to the largest volcano in the
Solar System, Olympus Mons. The redness comes
from rust. It is the fourth planet from the Sun.
It also has two polar ice caps.
11Jupiter
Ah, welcome to Jupiter. Jupiter is the largest
of the planets and the fifth from the Sun. Its
separated from the inner planets by the Asteroid
Belt. It has a huge red storm raging across the
planet. Jupiter is the king of the gods. It has
at least 63, including Io and Ganymede.
12Saturn
THIS IS SATURN! Welcome to the sixth planet,
Saturn. It is a planet with many rings around
made of dust and ice. It has a lot of moons such
as Titan. Saturn is Jupiters father and the god
of time.
13Uranus
Welcome to Uranus (we are talking about the
planet). Uranus is the seventh planet from the
Sun. It is bluish-green and spins on its side. It
has 27 moons (you will see them in exactly 4.5342
seconds) and is the god of the sky.
14Neptune
Neptune is the eighth planet from the Sun. It is
blue in color because of large amounts of
methane. It has 13 moons with the largest one
being Triton. Neptune is the god of the sea.
15Pluto
Pluto is last and least. After being ruled out
as a planet by stupid scientists, it turned to
the dark side as a dwarf planet. It has one moon,
Charon, and is the god of the underworld.
16Meteors and Asteroids
Meteors and asteroids are pretty awesome things.
Asteroids are huge chunks of rock that float in
space and the largest concentration of asteroids
in the Solar System is in the asteroid belt
between Mars and Jupiter. Meteors are also large
space objects that are really neat to see. They
can rain down during whats called a meteor
shower.
17Conclusion
- Thank you for watching my presentation and I
hoped the only thing you learned is the raw and
awesome power of Chuck Norris, or if you learned
something about the Solar System thats fine too.
But remember, Ill be watching.
