  • Born in Montebello, Virginia on November 24th,
    1784
  • Parents names were Richard and Mary
  • His family moved to Kentucky
  • Began serving in the army as a lieutenant in 1808

  • Zachary beat Cass by 36 electoral votes and
    137,882 popular votes
  • Zachary beat Van Buren by 163 electoral votes and
    1,059,760 popular votes
  • He was our 12th president
