- The Schools of Peace Foundation is a NGO founded
in 2001 - The activities of the Schools of Peace started in
1997 like a school project - In 1999 we joined with other 5 schools and we
started a collective construction of Peace
Education Programs - In Dec. 1999 we won the Ibero american Santillana
Award in Peace Education.

- Actually the Schools of Peace Foundation operate
with 3 Nets - THE PEACE EDUCATORS NETWORK, linking with the
International Association of Peace Educators - THE SCHOOLS OF PEACE YOUNG NETWORK. Conformed for
an interdisciplinary group of young leaders - THE SCHOOLS OF PEACE NETWORK. Most than 50 school
which participate in our programs

- Objective
- Developing the basic standards of Citizen
Competences in the secondary school of the
Colegio Compartir Municipio deSoacha - This project is oriented towards the improvement
of the scholar coexistence in the educative
institution through the design, application,
systematization and evaluation of a Peace
education proposal, with a wide participation of
the educative community.

- The project has been formulae in four (4) stages
and a transversal action of systematization and
evaluation. - Stage 1 To elaborate the state of the art about
the municipal previous experiences in peace
education, culture of peace, conflict
transformation or human rights in the school
context in the County of Soacha. - Stage 2 Diagnosis. To elaborate a participative
diagnosis about the school coexistence in the
Colegio Compartir - Stage 3 Leaders group formation and
qualification processes. Workshops using
different methodology approaches - The Transcend approach of J. Galtung from
TRANSCEND. - The Mossavi model
- The pedagogical experiential workshops
- Stage 4 Observatory installation and self
operation and establishing of the Groups of
interest

transform in a powerful tool from which they can
stimulate the development of the reflexive
capacity and critical analysis, thinking freedom
and look for respect attitudes, tolerance,
solidarity and fraternity, with responsible
participation possibilities in the schools life
as in their families and in the community
relationships.
18The Municipal System of School Convivence (life
together approach)
- The social and economic situation of the
municipality of Soacha is complex, in spite of
the efforts of many public and deprived
organizations, many children young people, they
see harmed its rights
19The Municipal System of School Convivence
- This situation impelled to UNICEF - Colombia to
direct its attention to the situation of this
municipality and to stimulate directed actions to
improve the quality of life of adolescents and
young people, to generate a culture of respect by
its rights and to support the development of
public policies that materialize them.
