What Is Polyurethane
  • Polyurethane is an incredibly resilient,
flexible, and durable manufactured material that
can take the place of paint, cotton, rubber,
metal, and wood in thousands of applications
    across all fields.
  • Polyurethane might be hard, like fiberglass,
squishy like upholstery foam, protective like
varnish, bouncy like rubber wheels, or sticky
    like glue.
  • Since its invention in the 40s, polyurethane has
been used in everything from baby toys to
airplane wings, and continues to be adapted for
    contemporary technology.

Why Polyurethane
  • Nowadays we expect textiles to meet far higher
standards. They have to be functional practical,
    easy care attractive.
  • The only way to meet these demands is by using
    modern finishing methods.
  • These involve some degree of mechanical
finishing, but processing chemicals also play a
    major role.

The Use Of Permafin Series In Textile
Finishing
  • To improve permanency of fluorocarbon finishes
  • Shrink resist felt free treatment on wool
    finishes.
  • Permanent press finish.
  • Dimensional stability on knit wear
  • Hydrophilic finishes.
  • Improvement in pilling behavior.
  • Improvement in crock fastness
  • 3-D Ripple print on cellulosic
  • Tear strength improver for cellulosic
  • For handle modification like peach handle, soft
    suede type effect etc
  • Down proof finish

Functional Finishes
  • Water Oil Repellent Finish
  • Aquarepel XAN Blocked polyisocynate. One of the
main problems of water and oil-repellent
finishing with FC derivatives is wash fastness.
Wash fastness can be improved substantially by
crosslinking the FC resins with Aquarepel XAN a
    fluoro carbon extender.
  • Felt Free Wool Finishes
  • Dermaset BAP An additive for felt free finishing
of wool. The advantage of Dermaset-BAP is that
it can be used on woven knitted woollen fabrics
    without oxidative pretreatment(chlorination), so
it is more environmentally friendly than
alternative processes. This process has recently
become important because applying this treatment
after prescouring ensures problem free dyeing of
woollen fabrics on jet units plus felt free
finishing. This process makes it possible to use
pure wool fabrics for machine washable trousers,
    shirts skirts.

Functional Finishes
  • Crease Resist Finishes
  • Crease-resist finish that enhance dimensional
stability are the most important finishes for
    cellulosic fibres. Cellulosic crosslinking
    agents, especially formaldehyde-based products,
are used for this. There is the problem of free
formaldehyde . Labeling and consumer protection
organizations are enforcing with manufacturers to
minimize the free formaldehyde content of
textiles. The maximum limit for clothing worn
next to skin are generally 75-300 ppm. The limits
for childrens clothing are far lower. Low
    formaldehyde formaldehyde free crosslinking
agents require stronger catalyst because of
their reduced reactivity. This catalyst tend to
reduce the mechanical properties of cellulosic
fibres. This is particularly critical in case of
    viscose.
  • Combining formaldehyde containing cross linker
    along with Permafin-UR gives following
    advantages
  • Finishes with low free formaldehyde content.
  • High dry wet crease recovery.
  • Excellent self smoothening.
  • Reduced loss in tenacity.
  • Improved abrasion resistance enhanced
    dimensional stability.

Functional Finishes
Improvement in Pilling Behavior
Conventional Finish
Permafin UR Finish
  • Hydrophilic Finish
  • Permafin-UR as an absorbency handle improver
suitable for polyester, cellulosic, woolen goods.
  • Improvement in pilling behavior crock-fastness
  • Permafin-UR can be used to produce a soft handle
without increasing the fabric tendency to pill.
The dry and wet crock-fastness of vat sulphur
dyeings can be improved by applying a finish of
    Permafin-UR.

Functional Finishes
  • Easy Care Finish
  • Permafin-Nano-PU, for easy care, high elastic
    various elegant finishes. Maximum elastic
    recovery voluminous handle. Suitable for
    cellulosic, synthetic woolen goods.
  • 3-D Ripple Print
  • Permafin-RPP for special 3-D ripple print on
    cellulosic goods.
