Secondhand Smoke Secondhand smoke is a
combination of the smoke emitted from a burning
cigarette, cigar, or pipe, and the smoke exhaled
by the smoker. Also known as environmental
tobacco smoke, it can be easily recognized by
it's distinctive odor. Secondhand smoke
contaminates the air and is retained in clothing,
curtains and furniture. To many, secondhand smoke
is unpleasant, causing symptomatic irritation of
the eyes and nose. More importantly it also
represents a significant health hazard. Of the
more than 4,000 different chemicals found in
secondhand smoke, over 40 have been shown to
cause cancer. Although second hand smoke is a
danger to everyone, children are particularly
vulnerable. Exposure to secondhand smoke
decreases lung efficiency and impairs lung
function in children of all ages. It also
increases both the frequency and severity of
childhood asthma. It can aggravate sinusitis,
rhinitis, cystic fibrosis, and chronic
respiratory problems such as cough and postnasal
drip. Children exposed to secondhand smoke will
also suffer from more colds and sore throats.
Those children whose parents smoke half a pack a
day or more are at nearly double the risk of
hospitalization for a respiratory illness.
Tobacco smoke can also have harmful effects on
your property and valuables. It contains tar,
which adheres to walls, furniture, carpets,
clothing and other articles with large surface
area. This can damage your valuable possessions
at the same time as leaving an unsightly film of
liquid tar.   The good news is that Tobaccut
will remove not only the smell of cigarette
smoke, but also the harmful chemicals that it
contains

  • Eliminates major odour causing components in
    tobacco smoke i.e. acetaldehyde formaldehyde,
    ammonia, trimethylamine, hydrogen sulfide, methyl
    mercaptan, acetic acid. Among all the
    aldehydes, acetaldehyde formalin are difficult
    to eliminate by conventional deodour ants
    masking agents because of their very low boiling
    points. Tobaccut works very effectively even on
    acetaldehyde formaldehyde.
  • It eliminates toxic constituents in cigarette
    smoke other gaseous fumes.
  • Tobaccut is effective on acidic gases (acetic
    acid) basic gases (Nicotine, ammonia)
  • Tobaccut imparts durable deodorant effects on all
    textiles, stable to multiple cycles of dry
    cleaning home laundering.
  • Active components in Tobaccut are ecologically
    safe environmentally friendly. It is safe in
    handling in use.
  • Tobaccut does not exhibit any negative influence
    on acute oral toxicity tests, skin patch test
    (skin irritation sensitization) mutagenicity
    tests.
  • Tobaccut is thermally stable upto 200ºC i.e.
    finish is stable to high curing temperatures.
  • Tobaccut is compatible with nonionic anionic
    bath auxiliaries application.

  • Applications
  • Tobaccut is best applied by padding or spraying.
    It may also be used by dipping methods i.e. drum
    washers, winches. However being weakly anionic.
    Tobaccut is not exhaustible based on fibre type
    and fabric construction a pad bath dosage of 7
    to 15 is normally optimum to achieve desired
    results.

  • On light weight fabric, (80150 gsm) a dry add on
    of 3 to 6 on weight of fabric is sufficient.
  • On heavier fabric (200400 gsm) a dry add on at
    2.5 to 5 on weight of fabric is sufficient to
    achieve desired benefits.
