Purpose and Significance of Study

• The purpose of the study is to find out the
  impact of foreign volleyball athletes on the
  success of teams on the NCAA DII level.
  
• It is significantly important to know the impact
  of these players in order for coaches to decide
  if it is beneficial to recruit foreign volleyball
  athletes.

Null Hypothesis

• There is no correlation between foreign
  volleyball athletes and the number of wins a team
  had last season.

Variables

• Foreign volleyball athletes continuous.
• Success of a team continuous.

Definition of terms

• Foreign volleyball athlete any athlete who comes
  to the US to play volleyball at the collegiate
  level.
  
• Success of a team high winning percentage during
  a season (at least 60).
  
• Last season fall of 2005.
• NCAA DII National Collegiate Athletic
  Association Division II.

Study Methodology

• The study design used for this study is a
  Correlational Research Design Method.

Selection and Description of Instruments

• Create a survey using Likert scale
  (quantitative).

Data Collection Procedures

• Look on NCAA DII directory for all the volleyball
  offices addresses.
  
• Send survey to all volleyball coaches- DII
• If no response received, resend survey and call
  coaches.
  
• Collect returned surveys and compile data.

Survey Questions

• Are there any foreign volleyball athletes on your
  program?
  
• Where is she (are they) originally from?
• What was the 2005 season record of your
  volleyball team?

Statistical Analysis Procedures

• Date type Continuous (interval/ratio).
• Testing for Relationship/Correlation between
  variables Pearsons r (2 variable les).

• Loss of subjects
• Location
• Data collector bias
