Division of Instruction
Joe Dan Banker, Vice President of Academic
Affairs, has been a member of the Albany
Technical College staff since August 2002.  Mr.
Banker holds a Bachelors Degree in Psychology
and a Masters Degree in Civil and International
Affairs, with an emphasis on Organizational
Leadership.

Division of Instruction
Dorothy Garner, Dean of Academic Affairs, has
been a member of the Albany Technical College
staff since 1980. Mrs. Garner holds a Bachelors
Degree in Nursing from Albany State University,
Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Education from
Valdosta State University and a Specialist Degree
from the University of Georgia.  She supervises
programs in Health Care Technology, Personal
Services, and Business.

Division of Instruction
Emmett L. Griswold, III, Dean of Academic Affairs
at Albany Technical College. Mr. Griswold leads
the Manufacturing Transportation and Trades
Division, which will include the Carlton
Construction Academy upon its completion. Mr.
Griswold came to Albany Tech in 2004 as a Law
Enforcement instructor, after nearly ten years
with the Department of Corrections. Most
recently, he served for four years as the Deputy
Warden of the Lee State Prison. Mr. Griswold, a
Milledgeville native who now lives in Albany,
earned his Bachelors and Masters of Science in
Criminal Justice from Albany State University.

Corene Hughley, Dean of Academic Affairs, has
been a member of the Albany Technical College
administrative staff since 1994.  Mrs. Hughley
earned her Bachelors Degree and also her
Masters of Education Degree in Early Childhood
Education from Indiana State University.

Shirley Armstrong, Ed.S, Dean of Academic Affairs
of Business, Technology and Personal
Services. Ms. Armstrong was a 23-year veteran
faculty member prior to becoming Dean. Ms.
Armstrong has been an ARRT Certified Registered
Technologist for 30 years. She earned her
Bachelors and Masters Degree in Technical and
Adult Education from Valdosta State University
and an Education Specialist Degree in
Educational Leadership from Argosy University.

Division of Technology
Elizabeth Deming, Dean of Technology in
Curriculum has been a member of the Albany
Technical College Staff since 2000. Prior to
becoming the Dean of Technology in Academics,
Mrs. Deming was Director of Special Projects and
Technology in Curriculum. Mrs. Deming holds an
Associates Degree from Darton College, a
Bachelors Degree from Albany State University,
and a Masters Degree form Valdosta State
University.

Albany Technical Colleges Library Media Center
has facilities at both the Dougherty County and
Randolph County campuses. Library Media Center
hours may vary by location. Online Students

Counseling Special Services
Services to students with disabilities are
coordinated through Albany Tech's Division of
Student Services.  Services are provided based on
the individual needs of the student.

Special Population
Participants must be single parent, displaced
homemakers or TANF recipients and be referred by
DFCS to be eligible for this program. Some
financial aid may be available to qualified
students who have entered school or will be
entering school. More information on this

ATC Bookstore
Albany Technical Colleges Bookstore is located
on the Dougherty County Campus. Bookstore
hours may vary. Students enrolled in online
courses can purchase their textbook and supplies
in person or can request their textbooks to be
mailed to them. Students must pay shipping costs.
