• Went on taglit birth right
• No electronics or transportation
• Up until 400 AM-woke up at 700 AM to walk to
  the Western Wall
• With 40 people she didnt know

Do you have any special childhoodmemories of
Shabbat?

• Confirmation helped interest her in the study of
  Judaism
• She participated a lot after bat-mitzvah
• It was more interesting to her after childhood
  because she understood it more

Who do you share your specialShabbats with?

• Her Shabbat was shared with strangers but
• they became friends after spending time together.

What do you do on a normal Shabbat and how is it
different from a special one?

• On a normal Shabbat Jess hangs out with all her
  friends at college or goes out somewhere around
  campus
• On this special Shabbat Jess was still with
  friends but in Israel enjoying a stronger Jewish
  experience

• What did we learn?

• Steven learned that Shabbat is a time for having
  a good time getting together with your family.

• Logan learned that at Shabbat you should pay
  attention to when someone is speaking because
  they might have good information about what you
  want to learn.

• What was the most memorable thing that
• happened on Shabbat.

• Stevens favorite memory of Shabbat was when he
  was at his aunts house everybody was telling
  jokes and they were laughing and having a good
  time.

• Logans favorite memory of Shabbat was when he
  was in Las Vegas with his family and they were
  singing all the prayers together and everyone was
  having a good time.

• How much fun did you have on your first Shabbat?

• Steven says the most fun he had on his first
  Shabbat was eating food that he has never eaten
  before and actually liking it.

• Logans first time at Shabbat was fun because my
  mom and dad were carrying me over their head and
  then pretending to drop me but they would catch
  me.

• Shabbat in Israel

• Jess Goldfarb walked 12 miles on Shabbat to get
  to the Western Wall
• An anonymous person we met said that Shabbat in
  Israel is different than West Hartford because
  Israel has more people participating on Shabbat.

Whats the Difference Between Shabbat in
Different Places (Jewish Camps Israel.)

• At camp we sang songs and prayed.

• In Israel we walked twelve miles to the Western
  Wall and back to the hotel.

Celebrating On Shabbat in Israel

• In Israel the Jews stay at home and read and
  relax.
• No one is ever driving around in cars, it is very
  peaceful and quite.
• Many people go to the wall to pray and dance.

Celebrating Shabbat at a Jewish camp

• All camp members go to services on Friday night
  and Saturday morning
• After dinner we sing songs for our evening
  activity.
• We have a special dinner with soup, bread and
  chicken legs.

What We Do for Shabbat

• Randy What I do for Shabbat is I go to Services
  and oneg. My favorite is the oneg because all the
  food is really good.
• Zack What I do for Shabbat is sometimes I go to
  services and the oneg and sometimes I go out to
  dinner.

WHAT JESS GOLDFARB DID FOR SHABBAT IN ISRAEL.

• She walked 12 miles to visit the western wall.
• She stayed in a hotel in Jerusalem.
• She wouldnt have to push the buttons in the
  elevators because they stopped at every floor.
