Title: Beautiful Faces at London Olympics
1Beautiful Faces at London Olympics
2Darya Klishina is a 21-year-old from Russia,
whose chosen sport is long jump. With those long
legs of hers, Klishina will be one to watch out
for at the London Olympic Games.
3Australian swimmer Stephanie Rice, who won three
gold medals at the 2008 Summer Olympics in
Beijing, is aware of her good looks and isn't
camera-shy either. A win-win all around.
4Sania Mirza, the most successful Indian woman
tennis player by a long mile, is a stunner and
has a terrific dress sense to go with it.
5Norwegian hurdler Christina Vukicevic is not
only a stunner, but is amongst the top favourites
to come away with a medal from the 2012 London
Olympic Games.
6Ashwini Ponnappa (in the foreground), is a
fast-rising badminton player from India. Her
speed across the court apart, Ashwini is also
easy on the eyes.
7Xue Chen is a beach volleyball player from China,
and was ranked third in CNN International's list
of Asia's 30 Sexiest Athletes.
8Bulgarian athlete Ivet Lalova specialises in the
100 metres and 200 metres sprint events and has
been dubbed 'the fastest white woman in the
world'. Look out for Lalova before she races away
past the finish line.
9She is among the world's richest athletes, and
will also become Russia's first woman flag bearer
when she leads the contingent at the opening
ceremony of the London Olympic Games, but Maria
Sharapova will be looking to make amends for a
disappointing 2012 Wimbledon at the Games.
Sharapova is only the sixth woman in the Open Era
to complete the career grand slam.
10Russian high jumper Anna Chicherova won the gold
medal at the 2011 World Championships in
Athletics. Chicerova won a bronze medal at the
Beijing Olympic Games, and at London will look to
jump her way to a different coloured medal.
11Five-time world champion Yelena Isinbayeva is an
institution to herself in women's pole vaulting -
17 world records and 13 indoor world records -
bear testament to the fact. Isinbayeva won the
gold medal at the 2004 and 2008 Olympics, and
will be looking to completing her hat-trick at
London.
12Italy's foil fencer Elisa Di Francisca has plenty
of World and European championship medals in her
kitty, and she will be hoping to add Olympic
medals to her collection at London.
13Mexican diver Paola Espinosa won the bronze medal
in the 10m Synchronized Platform at the 2008
Beijing Olympic Games, and would love to better
that performance in London.
14Luuka Jones, the first female canoe slalom
paddler to represent New Zealand at the Olympic
Games, is another athlete who gives male
spectators more than one reason to watch her
competing at the 2012 London Games.
15Italian volleyball player Francesca Piccinini
ticks all the boxes not only in her sport, but
also for being one of the most beautiful athletes
in the world.
16Paraguayan javelin thrower Leryn Franco shot into
prominence when she became an Internet sensation
during the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. She really
hasn't done anything of note in her event, but
her drop dead gorgeous looks have ensured Franco
is never far from the headlines.
17Natalie Coughlin, who has 11 Olympic medals to
her name, is competing only in the 4x100 metre
freestyle relay event at the London Olympic
Games, but the 29-year-old will be looking to
make the most of her experience and add yet
another Olympic medal to her kitty.
18Jessica Ennis missed the 2008 Olympic Games
because of an injury, but the British
heptathlete, is one of the top contenders for a
medal at the London Games. Ennis is also a
favourite with sponsors, and is on course to earn
1 million pounds from sponsorship deals this
year - making her the first female athlete to do
so.
19Chloe Sutton is a leggy swimmer from the US, and
since the Beijing Olympic Games, the 20-year-old
American has gained in confidence, and will be
seen competing in the 400 metre freestyle at the
London Games.
20The 23-year-old Alex Morgan was the youngest
player on the USA's roster at the 2011 FIFA
Women's World Cup. Morgan is fast gaining a fan
following not only for her football skills but
also for her drop dead gorgeous looks.
21Caroline Wozniacki has been experiencing
turbulence of late in her tennis career, but that
takes nothing away from her magnificent looks.
22The 34-year-old Luciana Aymar is one of the
world's best hockey players as can be gauged by
the fact that she is the only player in history
to receive the International Hockey Federation
World Player of the Year award seven times. In
what is surely her last Olympic Games, Aymar will
be looking to lead Argentina to the gold medal.
23US women's soccer team goalkeeper Hope Solo is
one of the best in the world at what she does
and she is mighty easy on the eyes too.
24Ana Ivanovic has been struggling to rediscover
her best form on the tennis court over the last
couple of seasons, but when on song, is more than
a handful for any opponent. Ivanovic is also one
of the more beautiful faces in the tennis world.
25Lolo Jones will be seen competing in the 100
metre hurdles at the London Olympic Games, where
she will want to make up for the disappointment
she experienced in Beijing four years ago. Lolo,
who has posed semi-nude for ESPN, is also one of
the most famous virgins in the world.
26She may be 38 years old, but French sprinter
Christine Arron, who is the fifth fastest woman
ever over 100 metres, can still give her young
opponents a good run for their money.
27British heptathlete Louise Hazel won the gold
medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, and the
26-year-old will be hoping to emulate that feat
in front of her home fans during the 2012 London
Olympic Games.
