The Symptoms
  • One in 150 people will develop a serious illness
    from West Nile virus. Recognizing the symptoms is

  • High fever, headache, stiffness in the neck, and
    disorientation are among those.
  • The less serious symptoms include nausea,
    vomiting, and a rash on the chest, stomach, and
    back.
  • The less serious symptoms will last about two to
    three days. The more serious can last for several
    weeks.

The Spread
  • West Nile virus control has everything to do with
    good mosquito pest control. There are only two
    ways this condition can be spread.
  • Infected mosquitoes are the most common way it
    spreads. Mosquitoes get West Nile virus when they
    feed on an infected bird. People animals in
    turn get infected when a mosquito bites them.
  • The only other way to transmit West Nile is
    through the blood transfusions, organ
    transplants, breastfeeding, or pregnancy.

Treating the Infection
