• Install and Convert
• Current elections and history must be converted.
• Create a new install of the Oracle Applications
  Release 11i.
• Use existing APIs to move data into the new
  instance.
• Rebuild existing elements and structures using
  new benefits functionality.
• Process new elections
• Current elections data is sufficient.
• Use open enrollment to load in current enrollment
  information.
• Make new elections and re-designate dependents
  and beneficiaries.

Mapping Legacy Data

• Identify data within the legacy schema that is
  going to be ported into OAB. Not all the data may
  be converted.
• Determine required translation of legacy data,
  codes and names into corresponding OAB
  terminology.
• Data Mapping and Translation create a road map
  for the conversion.
• Mapping includes the legacy data mapping with OAB
  and also mapping of OAB Plans Plan Options with
  respective Elements Tax Types

Conversion Tools

• SQLLoader
• SQLLoader is a bulk loader utility used for
  moving data from external files into the Oracle
  database.
• Leverage staging tables for the loading of
  required data.
• Application Programming Interface (API)
• APIs ease the data conversion process.
• Many of the pre-seeded Oracle database tables are
  not optimized, you need to review the interface
  and application tables for indexes
• Review the Application tables statistics. (Run
  Statistics often)
• SmartDB Workbench and Adapters
• Automatically converts source data to the Oracle
  format.
• Improves data quality by automating translation
  and rules to validate and correct data before
  converting it.
• Report results of the load process.
