• The major points of your research paper should be
  your headers.
  
• Your bullet points should be your major topics.
• You will talk about lots of things but the bullet
  points serve as anchors for your
  viewer/listener.

Length

• Plan for each slide to display for 30 seconds.
• That will be about 10-12 slides for a five minute
  speech.

Design--color

• Use muted colors
• Make colors go with topic
• Make sure all text is readable

Design--graphics

• All graphics should apply to topic
• Do not use distracting graphics
• Do not use little animated, distracting graphics

Design--pictures

• All pictures and video should help the reader
  understand
  
• Do not use distracting or irrelevant pictures
• Do not use really gross pictures, even if they go
  with your topic
  
• Try to edit gross pictures if you need them to
  make your point only.

Design--animation

• Make your entire slide appear at once.
• Do not use distracting animation.
• Make sure that any animation is appropriate to
  the topic.
  
• You may notprobably will nothave access to a
  remote make slides easy for other people to
  advance.
  
• Do not use a timed PowerPoint.

Advice

• Be professional
• Slide should be easily readable in 30 seconds.
• Do not use small print.
• Use bullet points onlynot whole paragraphs.
• PowerPoint should supplement what you say, not be
  your presentation.

Speech in general

• Plan for an 8-12 minute presentation.
• You may add your product pictures at the end with
  a new heading
  
• You may, if it works for your topic, incorporate
  your product pictures in your main PowerPoint.
  
• Be sure to clarify what you are doing to your
  judges.

• Do not read your slides.
• Make notes or have some kind of complete notes to
  rely on.
  
• Do not just print off slides and read the
  printout.
  
• If you print out slides, make good notes so
  youll have all your information in place.
