1Chaim Herzog Was Ordained As Rabbi In 2000
2 Based in Melbourne, Chaim Herzog is a
compassionate individual who cares profoundly for
Jewish community. He was honored with the 2008
Jenny Goldberg Bnai Brith International Award in
recognition of his community service. He is the
Religious Chaplain at RMIT (Royal Melbourne
Institute of Technology), as well as the Director
of Chabad of Melbourne CBD (1998 to present). In
this capacity, he organizes major events on
Jewish festivals that are attended by political
dignitaries and prominent speakers. Some events
Chaim Herzog hosted are the 14th Sukkat Luncheon
in Melbourne's City Square, Purim 2011, and
various learning sessions.

ordained in 2000 as Rabbi in New York. He went on
shlichus to Sydney and Los Angeles as a
Rabbinical student to help the community. A rabbi
is a Jewish spiritual leader who has pastoral
duties such as leading congregation in prayer
preaching duties such as delivering weekly
sermon interpreting the Torah and a variety of
other administrative functions. About Chabad of
Melbourne CBD Chabad of Melbourne CBD was
established in 1998 by Rabbi Chaim Dov Ber
Herzog, with an aim to strengthen the Jewish
community groups. The organization hosts many
events including the annual Purim parties that
have become a smashing success with over 400
people attending including political dignitaries.
4Chabad of Melbourne CBD is known for its efforts
to helping the young Jewish professionals and
businessmen living in Melbourne. Some yearly
events organized by the Chabad of Melbourne CBD
are Chanukah at Parliament House, Succot in the
City Square, Passover and Purim at the Melbourne
Town Hall. Chaim Herzog attended one of the
Melbourne's Jewish day schools and was officiated
as a chaplain in Athens 2004 Olympic games. He
was appointed a Shliach and Director of Chabad of
Melbourne CBD by Rabbi Yizchok Groner OBM. He
also operates another Chabad house called The
Shul and runs a Minyan and weekly Shuirim. The
Shul is a leading Chabad Jewish center situated
in the center of Caulfield and provides adult
education, lectures, guest speakers, holiday
programs, home visits and Shabbatons.
