• By Definition, Reciprocal Teaching is an
  instructional method that involves guided
  practice of reading comprehension using four
  concrete steps
• The job of the teacher is to provide modeling,
  scaffolding, feedback, and cooperate in making
  efforts of understanding the material that is
  being taught.

Clarification

• In this stage, whenever difficult material is
  encountered, questions should be formatted in
  order to define and make them easier to
  understand.

Questioning

• If a why and how questions are asked, they
  should be used to further understand the rest of
  the paragraph. The questions that arise should
  start a discussion and additional questions
  should result in the group in which is being
  taught. In cases of disagreement, the passage
  should be re-read.

• In the summary stage, the important details
  should be pointed out in a way that helps the
  students get the main idea of the paragraph. This
  stage solidifies what they just read and gives
  them a good idea whats coming in the next
  paragraph.

• Students are encouraged to make guesses about
  where the text is going next. This lets students
  use their prior knowledge learned in the earlier
  stages.
