Heriberto Sedeno is a former family physician
who is a highly educated individual having 30
years of experience. He is also fluent in French
and Spanish and was a Pedro Pan. Pedro Pan
program was started in 1960 by the Catholic
Welfare Bureau, Miami to provide the parents a
chance to send their children to Miami to avoid
Marxist-Leninist Indoctrination. In 1975, to
receive his Doctor of Medicine degree, he
attended the School of Medicine in the University
of Zaragoza, Spain. Prior to this, in 1969, he
completed his Bachelor of Arts degree (Biology
Major) from the University of St. Thomas,
Houston, Texas. Heriberto Sedeno studied from
one of the most renowned educational institutions
to complete both primary as well as secondary
education and has received various certifications
including Educational Commission for Foreign
Medical Graduates (ECFMG) in 1976, license in
Medicine and Surgery in 1977, Diploma in American
Board of Family Practice in

1979 and Specialty Certification in Family
Practice from 1979 to 1986 which was later
re-certified from 1994 to 2001. Besides this,
Heriberto Sedeno is also a founding member of
West Houston IPA, M.D at HispaMed IPA and Texas
Health Plan HMO, Credentials Committee.
Heriberto Sedeno has been affiliated to the
West Houston Medical Center as a Chief at Family
Practice Department in 1987, Medical Executive
Committee in 1988, Emergency Room Committee in
1989, Secretary of Executive Committee in 1990,
Utilization Management Committee from 1993 to
1994 and Credential Committee from 1995 to
1996. Heriberto Sedenocompleted his residency
from the most reputed medical institutes and
began practicing at the R.E. Thomason General
Hospital, El Paso, Texas. In 1982, he worked as
Primary Care Physician (Part Time) until 1983 at
Cigna Health Plans.

From 1985 to 1995, he served as the Principal of
West Houston Family Practice Associates,P.A and
he became its President in 1996. Apart from this,
Heriberto Sedeno has been associated with
numerous organizations including American Academy
of Family Physicians, Texas Academy of Family
Physicians, Texas Academy of Family Physicians,
Texas Medical Association and Harris County
Academy of Family Physicians.
