Our Campus Improvement Plan

• Key Points we would like to share
• Every staff member at Bransom participates in a
  Goal Team
• The Goal Teams are the subject areas, facility
  and safety, parent communication, etc.
• Our Goal Teams looked at the data from last year
  and helped to create our campus improvement plan
  based on that data.

Campus Improvement Plan

• Although at least 90 of our students passed the
  TAKS test last year, we saw some opportunities
  for growth in the area of 5th grade science. For
  the past two years several groups of students
  have struggled on the science test.
• For this reason we have won grants for the
  computer program Study Island, and as a campus we
  have implemented training for teachers on Science
  Journaling throughout all grades.

• Highlights of our Campus Improvement Plan
  include
• Strategic Teaming and Response meetings with
  teachers bi-weekly
• Implementation of Scientific Spelling as well as
  Saxon phonics
• Providing opportunities for technology training
  for teachers each six weeks
• Creating emergency kits for each classroom

• Each six weeks our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade
  students participate in district checkpoint tests
• We would like to share the results of these
  checkpoints with you.

Courtyard

• Our courtyard has had the following renovations
  completed
• New concrete planter boxes
• New concrete walkways
• Our irrigation system is in the process of being
  fixed

• In Spring you will see
• Our yard will be hydro-mulched
• The district will provide plants for the
  Butterfly garden
• We will have a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony open to
  parents and students in the spring
• At that time we will ask for your participation
  in the replanting of our gardens by donating of
  plants (from your home or bought) or seeds so
  that we can begin creating our gardens again

Parent Survey

• We will be getting a small group together to help
  us hear the voice of parents. They will help us
  create a parent survey.
• My goal is to understand your needs and concerns
  for our school.
• This survey will be given twice a year.

• Eliminate shuttle buses (except district-wide
  programs assigned to the campus)
