  • SDSU ranks 8th in the nation (3rd in California)
    in bachelors degrees awarded to Latinos and 12th
    in the nation in bachelors degrees awarded to
    minority students.
  • One of the most popular state universities in
    California This year 61,492 applications were
    received, ranking SDSU No. 2 nationally for
    applications received. Of those, 49,735 were
    first-time freshman applications.
  • SDSU has been named the number one small research
    university in the nation for the past two years
    in a row.

Compact for Success Eligibility Requirements
COMPACT for SUCCESS is a partnership between SDSU
and Sweetwater that guarantees admission to SDSU
if students meet the following benchmarks
  • Enrolled by 9th grade
  • Attain a 3.0 CSU GPA and maintain through senior
    year
  • Complete all CSU a-g course requirements
  • Satisfy the ELM (Entry Level Math Placement Test)
  • Satisfy the EPT (Entry Level English Placement
    Test)
  • Have taken the SAT Reasoning or ACT test

Students who meet benchmarks and enroll at SDSU
are called Compact Scholars.

Compact for Success Scholarship
  • Students who meet all benchmarks, who submit a
    FAFSA, and who demonstrate financial need are
    eligible for scholarships
  • Out of 203 Compact Scholars, 89 received a
    need-based Compact Scholarship for 2006-2007
  • Out of 202 Compact Scholars, 59 received a
    need-based Compact Scholarship for 2007-2008.
  • The Sweetwater Education Foundation has raised
    500,000 for each graduating class through 2010.
