Whats new for Fall?

• New WVU ID. The number is not printed on the
  card. You can find your ID number in your MIX
  account or use the designated look-up station in
  the library. This is the number used to check
  out books, sign into the online catalog to view
  checked out items or request BookExpress, sign
  into EZ Borrow, authenticate on our computers,
  and to sign into the proxy server.
• Registration for ILLIad (interlibrary loan) will
  require use of the last for digits of the WVU ID.
• All graduate students can check out up to 100
  items and have a semester loan. Exceptions EZ
  Borrow items are always 4 wks with one renewal.
  Health Sciences books go for 2 wks for everyone.
  ILL books must be returned when indicated on the
  label.
• The Downtown Campus Library computers do not have
  diskette or zip drives. These drives are still
  available at Evansdale Library until the next
  upgrade.
• As of Tuesday, September 6th, Evansdale will be
  opened until 2AM. This will be true for
  Sunday-Thursday only during fall/spring
  semesters. You must have your WVU ID to remain
  in the building after midnight.
• Coming soon federated searching----being able
  to search multiple databases simultaneously.

Things to remember

• Always enter a database or electronic product
  from the WVU Libraries web site. Most products
  need to verify that you have the right to access
  the information. If you go directly to a
  website, it cant verify that you are WVU.
• When available, use Article Linker to determine
  what we own or to request through ILLiad.
• If you cant find something that you think we
  own, email me or use Instant Answers and we will
  verify ownership.
• If you are having trouble accessing a database or
  electronic journal, let me know. We rely on you
  for notification since we cant possibly keep
  track of what is and isnt working in all the
  electronic resources we have.
• Over the next five years, we will be canceling
  more paper journal subscriptions and going to
  electronic-only access.
• A proxy server is used to verify you as a WVU
  student when you access WVU resources from
  off-campus.
