REGISTRATION
  • When all required materials are received in the
    Opportunity College office, students may enroll
    in up to two courses per semester.
  • After the first semester, students may request
    approval to enroll in more than two courses.
  • Junior and Senior high school students must meet
    course prerequisites and ACT, SAT or COMPASS
    scores listed in the catalog to enroll in all
    courses.

  • The Mary Jo Young scholarship, offered through
    the KY Dept. of Education, may also be used to

STUDY SKILLS
  • Study Skills Services are offered for BCTC
    students. There is a Study Skills Specialist
    available to assist all students with study
    strategies and tutoring on an individual basis,
    in small group workshops, or in classroom
    settings.

  • A student email account is automatically
    generated when a student enrolls in BCTC. To
    access this, students should use Internet
    Explorer web browser. The address is

  • This link gives step-by-step instructions to set
    up the student email account, using the Student
    ID. (The student ID is a 9-digit number that
    begins with 00 and appears on the student
    schedule)
  • The student email account is important for
    notification from the college, receiving grades,
    and other information.

TRANSFER OF COURSES
  • Technical program dual credit courses transfer to
    colleges within the Kentucky Community and
    Technical College System (KCTCS). Some technical
    courses may transfer to other four-year colleges
    or universities.
  • General education dual enrollment courses will
    transfer to any KCTCS institution and may be
    included in the KCTCS General Education
    Certification which will transfer to Kentucky
    public four-year colleges and universities.
  • High school students who expect to complete
    requirements for a bachelors degree at another
    college or university should consult the
    curriculum recommended in the catalog of the
    institution to which they plan to transfer.
