Wireless Personal Alarm (WPA)
STEP 1 The bluetooth panic button, once
activated, wirelessly triggers a users gsm or
satellite phone to send an SMS message to one or
more pre-defined emergency contacts STEP 2 The
device searches for the phones location
co-ordinates (it looks for GPS or network based
location services (LBS)). The users co-ordinates
are then sent to the emergency numbers

STEP 3 It opens a voice channel on the users
phone allowing the monitoring centre to ascertain
and record the users situation STEP 4 The device
sends out a strobing signal after sending the
emergency SMS messages so that the rescue team
can locate the user when within the range of the
device (up to 100m)
