  quarantined in a fever hospital.
• Typhoid Fever is his autobiographical account
  of the disease.
• Typhoid Fever is an excerpt from McCourts
  autobiographical novel Angelas Ashes (named
  after his mother).
• The novel chronicles his life growing up in
  poverty-stricken Limerick, Ireland.
• It won the 1997 Pulitzer Prize and was on
  bestseller lists for weeks.
• Died in July 2009 of melanoma.
