Title: Daily Routine Essay

1
Daily Routine Essay
2
Mission
  • You will write an essay that describes your daily
    routine.
  • Example The alarm clock sounds at 6 am and I
wake up. I turn on the TV and watch the news.
After listening to the weather forecast, I get
out of bed and wander to the kitchen to find
    something to eat.

3
Rules
  • You MAY NOT use an online translator or any
online sources. Also, you may not consult native
or heritage speakers. This will be considered
cheating and you will receive a zero if you
    choose to ignore my directions.
  • You can consult a text book, your notes/packets,
and any of the Spanish teachers at GMS/GHS. A
Spanish dictionary (non-electronic) may be used
    as well.
  • Try to stick to things/words you know. In
other words, try to avoid excessive use of the
    dictionary.

4
Rules
  • Your dialogue must be at least 125 words in
length. Try to use verbs and vocabulary that you
have acquired throughout Spanish 1 and Spanish 2.
  • Once again, please try to limit the use of
dictionaries. Stick to what you know.

5
Rules
  • You must include the following items in your
    essay
  • at least 8 reflexive verbs and pronouns (repeats
    do not count)
  • Please underline these verbs.
  • at least 4 different body part vocabulary words
  • Please circle these words.
  • at least 8 different object vocabulary words (ex.
    deodorant, shampoo, etc.)
  • Please circle these words.

6
Rules
  1. Again, I will be looking at organization of your
essay. Be sure that the piece flows and happens
    in a logical sequence.
  2. DO USE transition words to help with flow.
(examples first, then, next, after, before,
    while, etc.)
  3. Be sure to pay attention to word order, adjective
    agreement, verb agreement, etc.

7
Helpful Hints
  • Remember, you only know the present tense and the
present progressive tense. Avoid words that end
in -ed or questions that start with did.
  • Remember, a verb requires a reflexive pronoun if
the subject and the object receiving the action
are the same. See your notes!
  • Remember the rules concerning antes de, después
de, and para. See your notes!

8
Materials
  • Do bring the following items to class
  • 1. notebook
  • 2. packet and/or any worksheets that we have
    used in class.
  • 3. writing utensils
