IG-541New Technology in Fire Suppression System
  • Concept of using Inert gas like Argon and mixture
of Argon and Nitrogen in the fire protection is
    very old.
  • However
  • Concept of using Halon alternative with high
    pressure is the new technology.

Introduction
  • The search for effective fire extinguishing
system in the place of Halon provide the choice
between chemical halocarbon agents HFC, HCFC and
    PFC and Inerting gases.
  • The inerting gases offer advantages over halon in
terms of environmental impact and genuinely clean
    agent extinction without breakdown.

Awareness
  • Global Supplier
  • Inert Gas System is being used already globally.
  • Inergen, Argonite, Argotec, Argon Fire are the
trade name of Inert Gas Clean Agent suppliers.
  • NFPA, ISI or any other standard do not specify
    these trade name.
  • Inert Gas Clean Agent will be represented only by
    IG-100, IG-01,
  • IG-55, IG-541.

Inert Gas Clean Agent System
  • Nitrogen IG 100

18
Inert Gas Clean AgentNitrogen IG 100
Inertly Yours
  • Approved and Accepted Inert Gas System
  • As Halon Alternative

19
Inert Gas Clean Agent Nitrogen IG 100
Inertly Yours
  • Very similar to other Inert Gas System like
  • Argonite One of the trade names of IG-55
  • Or
  • Inergen One of the trade names of IG-541

20
Inert Gas Clean Agent Nitrogen IG 100
Inertly Yours
  • Features
  • Low refilling cost
  • 99.9 Nitrogen
  • Single Noble Gas
  • Needing no mixing
  • Heavier than air (1.38 time density of air)
    Protect low level fires
  • No agent breakdown
  • No fogging of room atmosphere upon discharge
  • Minimum short-term room cooling. Condensation on
    equipment is avoided
  • Discharge time 1 minute as per NFPA
  • Unlike chemical agents, Nitrogen does not break
down in the flame to form Hydrogen fluoride or
other toxic/corrosive gas. Nitrogen does not
contribute to corrosive damage to equipment

21
Inert Gas Clean Agent Nitrogen IG 100
Inertly Yours
  • Human Safety
  • No Observable Adverse Effect Level (NOAEL)
    below 42
  • Lowest Observable Adverse Effect Level (LOAEL)
    gt43 to lt52
  • Design Concentration

22
Inert Gas Clean Agent Nitrogen IG 100
Inertly Yours
  • Extinguishing Principle
  • Extinguish fire by reducing oxygen by replacing
    air in the room.
  • Oxygen level is reduce to the level where it will
not support Combustible material for combustion
    to be maintained.
  • In air oxygen is 21. When Oxygen is reduced
bellow 16 fire suppression takes place. When
Oxygen is reduced beyond 12 fire is extinguished.

Inertly Yours Availability
  • Agni Control is pioneer in gas-based systems
having experience in Design, manufacture, supply
and commissioning No. of gas based systems for
    various applications.

28
Inert Gas Clean Agent Nitrogen IG 100
Inertly Yours Conclusion
  • Nitrogen IG-100 system are to a well proven
design for a wide range of risks.
  • Nitrogen IG-100 system provide fire protection
that in most respects is superior to that
provided with HALON 1301 and thus purchasers can
specify in confidence, knowing that they have an
effective fire protection, with an agent that is
safe, clean and will not be caught up in any
    future environmental legislation.
