Jon Light comes from a background of both
Hospitality and Recruitment. He has extensive
knowledge and industry experience of Front of
House and Back of House operations. Before
joining COREcruitment, Jon was a Restaurant
Manager, a General Manager, and worked his way up
from Commis Chef to a senior Chef role. Jon has
worked in 5 properties, renowned restaurants and
Private Members Clubs across Europe, Asia and
South Africa. Jon covers Africa and
International Regions, helping Hospitality
Professionals find their Superstars!
Michelle Wells is a highly motivated and
passionate senior recruiter with an excellent
track record in placing candidates with a
retention level that is the envy of any
recruitment consultant. Michelle joined
COREcruitment in 2005, moving back to South
Africa in 2009 to become the Divisional Director.
She has a strong restaurant operations and hotel
background. Her recruitment skills are based
upon understanding the needs of her clients and
her candidates, always integrating with them to
make the right match!
Claire McNamara is a proud Welsh girl who has
experience of a different kind! In the past few
years Claire worked as a celebrity and model
booker, working on programmes such as the popular
Big Brother in the UK! Claires role at
COREcruitment South Africa is focused on company
development, promotion and client attraction.
Claire has been lucky enough to spend the good
part of 6 years travelling and working in Japan
and China which was an incredible life experience
for her.

Collecting peripheral information regarding the
job role such as benefits, induction and training.
The search for suitable candidate snow begins.
The objectives is to get a selection of good
quality candidates.

Search Sourcing for applicants through referrals
All applicant CVs are collected and reviewed in
line with criteria. Those who do not have the
right experience and qualifications for the role
are regretted and given feedback where requested.
Those who are suitable are telephone screened to
probe further into their background And
experience also to examine their motivations
for changing their current job and those in the
past. We also ask all applicants at this stage
about their working status in the country.

We discuss vacancies with suitable applicants
all job details and information collected about
the job role earlier in the process.
Manage applicants through the application process
collecting and giving feedback and ensuring
interest in the job role. We aim to keep in touch
with candidates past their 3 month probation
period to ensure no problems arise.
Other areas we probe into are Reasons for
leaving last job Salary levels in past
roles Driving licence status Relocation and
preferred locations Staffing numbers / turnover
figures Motivations for changing positions We
always request reference details of at least 2
contacts from our candidates Ideally all
applicants are met in face-to-face interviews
