CIS600 INTERNET SECURITY PRINCIPLE Fall 2001 --
Mid-course Project Report
2Project Description
The increased mobility and cost-effectiveness
make wireless LANs/WANS a popular alternative
today. If internal security controls are weak,
an unauthorized user could easily gain access to
the network through the wireless LAN/WANand then
could gain complete control of the network by
exploiting internal weaknesses. Because it is
easy and good to use wireless LANs/WANS and there
are some threats and risk, we need to protect the
wireless LANs/WANS security.

6Progress So Far
- Search information in the internet
- Read some relative books
7Main Bottlenecks
- Hard to find both of wireless LAN and WAN
information, so I need to find the LAN
information first, then the WAN one - There are so much data to read and understand
8Proposed Outline
- Executive Summary
- Introduction
- Approach
- I plan to gather the information
- I plan to read the books.
- Summary
