Teachers Model Reading5 Steps

• 1.All teachers are expected to model reading
  during SSR.
• Modeling reading is key to the programs
  success.
• 2. Teachers may want to have students leave their
  book in the classroom.

  libraries and an inviting environment for
  reading.
• Teachers should be prepared with alternative
  readings for students not prepared for class.

Guidelines for Raiders

• You must read a book of your choice for the
  entire allotted time.
• You may not do homework or read any material for
  another class. SSR is not a study hall.
• You must have a book in your possession when SSR
  time starts this is the main responsibility
  involved in coming to class prepared for SSR.

Guidelines for Raiders

• You may not talk or disturb others.
• No student should be in the hallway. Please do
  not ask to leave the room at this time. It
  disturbs others.
• Record your points on your Raiders Read or
  other reading log at the end of SSR.

Incentives

• Individual Level
• At the end of the 1st nine weeks
• Each ACE teacher submits the name of the student
  with the highest total.
• The names are put into a drawing for 3 gift cards
  (one for each grade level).

• A special treat will be awarded to the ACE class
  in each grade with the highest points total at
  the end of each nine weeks.

• School Goal 4,000 points total
• Students may choose from.
