1RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECTS ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
ASSESSMENT(EIA)

2BY LAW ON EIA RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES
Annex 1 List Water Storage Facilities (Dams
Lakes which have Lake Volume at least 10 million
m3) Hydroelectric Power Plants that have
installed capacity at leas 25 MW Annex 2 List
Water Storage Facilities (Dams Lakes which
have Lake Volume at least 5 million
m3) Hydroelectric Power Plants that have
installed capacity at least 0,5 MW
3BY LAW ON EIA RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES
Wind Power Plants with 10 MW installed capacity
at least Extraction of Geothermal Energy
Source Facility and facilities that use
jeothermal capacity (5 MWt heat capacity at
least)
4HYDROELECTRIC ENERGY
- POSITIVE IMPACTS
- With Hydroelecric Power Plants (HPP) the water
that can not be benefitted before, is being
gained to economy. Also for HPPs there cost for
raw material is not present. - For the sake of methodology of the energy
production HPPs are environment friendly. They do
not cause significant environmental harm. - The HPPs which have a stored water body are
highly sensitive to sudden changes in the energy
demand. Start up of thermal power plants and
nuclear power plants consumes more time w.r.t.
HPPs.
5GEOTHERMAL ENERGY
- POSITIVE IMPACTS
- No significant environmental impact
- Easy remediation of impact on nature during
extraction - No nitrogen, phosphorus emmision,
- Very low SO2 emmision
- No aesthetic impact.
6SOLAR ENERGY
- POSITIVE IMPACTS
- Infinite source
- Local Implications
- Less Know-How Requirement
- Easy Operation
- No waste
7WIND ENERGY
- POSITIVE IMPACTS
- Infinite Raw Material
- No emmision or contamination,
- No waste production
- No radioactive radiation
- No depence due to raw materials
- Simple technology
- Short start-up period
8BIOMASS ENERGY
- POSITIVE EFFECTS
- Derived from energy agriculture
- C4 plants (corn, sugar cane, millet) are
cultivated. - Emmisions from chemical operations and
incineration causes no significant impact.
